This brief discussion of pickup size makes me wonder what fits where and why. I'd venture to say (without looking first) that the Super Js have a greater angle on the pickups? Generally I'm guessing that there are sizes for Super J and Long Scale, but I don't have another long scale 4-string to compare to.

Dang, thanks for checking. I can get multiple configurations from bass direct but it'll cost about 450 bucks. I'm in the process of putting this audere classic in right now hopefully this helps. I did some A/B against my sting Ray HH and EHB with nordstrand big splits and realized how muddy and dull these pickups sound in comparison.

Could you rephrase because I’m not understanding. Which pickups are sound muddy and dull?

Yes. The supers are different sizing then the long scales

that said,

A six string long scale is the same as a 5 string super shell. I just roughly measured.

This may be the same as a 5 string long scale being the same as a 4 string super. That, IDK

when it comes to 4 strings the spacings are both 19mm right? So I don’t know how it translates

for production reasons I see how making less different sizes of shells makes a ton of sense. Is there only 3 sizes then aside from the P?

Well, the 5 string long scale = 4 string super is demonstrated above, so you'd have the following shells:

Size 1 = 6 string long scale/5 string super - guessing: approx. 124mm?
Size 2 = 5 string long scale/4 string super - approx. 114mm
Size 3 = 4 string long scale - approx. 104mm

Split P is obviously not included - do they even make that yet? Then there is 4-string split P and 5 string split P, but I assume for Super only.

I'll have to overlay an Afterburner and Super J in Photoshop to see what the angles are.

Thank you. I have a couple East Pres on the shelf, unfortunately had to scavenge them. I would like to find some stacked pots like the one I'm using for the selector.

This bass when I got it. It took a bit to realize since I picked up a new amp as well. But i grabbed other basses and played through other head cab combos and realized there was something off. I'm wondering if the pots went bad?

Standard BEADG on the AB1 5er and DGCF (with a drop tuner for drop C) on the D-Bird.

My AB2 in standard tuning gets the most playing time. The two NG3's are in half step down and A standard.
