Dingwall Owners Club

I’m gassing for a Cricut machine. I started playing around with an airbrush this winter. Hand cutting stencils gets old in a hurry. The Cricut machine and software would be a huge step up.

A CNC cutter on my desktop for $250? And wireless?

I’ve always thought the Dbird had a WW2 fighter vibe and should be rocking a retro style, nose art, pinup girl. But finding the right image, in the right size, or even just a silhouette, has been a challenge.

Being able to manipulate the image and then cut a vinyl or stencil would be awesome.

All for the price of a pedal….

Feeling much better about this bass now. Added the hipshot bridges which are a little heftier than the stock, and I mix matched my USA clovers into the LIC posts(thank you @LowEndLobster for helping me with that suggestion) It's not an exact fit but it works and seems to hold. NOTE, the LIC Y key will not fit into the USA Post. It seems to be the slightest bit bigger in diameter. You'd think that would mean slop from the USA Y key in the LIC post but that isn't the case.

With the black and the knobs I may just let the stock sticker ride. If anything I may go with a white pearl guard to cover it and match the top dots.

Turned my lemon into an Arnold Palmer.

So whose got a P tone and some FDVs for sale?

My wife has a cricut. It’s pretty cool. She makes decals and stencils and stuff for her crafting projects. I haven’t tried to use it (and it’s on her Mac laptop and I’m Mac OS stupid) but I now that you mention it, it would be pretty dope to make your own designs.

I’ve got some USA Hipshot Y key tuners coming in black and I’ll use the drop tuner from my AB1 (which I never use) and swap them out. I also bought some black control knobs. The one hang up is paying the ~$150 for the Hipshot individual saddles. They’ve got cheap black ones on Amazon or eBay for $25 for all four instead of $35 a piece. I might go with them for the time being. I also considered just trying out black spray paint and spraying the current saddles. I don’t know how well that would work but it’s cheaper.

@LowEndLobster used black engine enamel on his Mint O Ray hardware and said it's held up for at least 2 years. I was close to doing the same. In fact... since i have these stock ones and the finish isn't that great i think I'll go ahead and give it a shot.
unfortunately i couldn't use my d tuner, that I'll have to order with the 3/8 post. But at least I saved myself buying tuners.

I wonder how spray on plastic coating(plastidip?) would work? Soften the edges a bit perhaps

I can’t imagine it would rub off quickly unless you rest your palm on the bridge and do a lot of palm muting. I don’t really touch or rest my hand on the bridge anyway, and the higher wear part (the adjustable saddle piece that the string passes over and the adjustment screws are already black. I may try to just paint them.

I do have a middle 4-string FDV for sale, but I'd want to measure to make sure it will fit a long scale.
For Sale - Dingwall 4-string FDV-Middle pickup and 3x switch

Can you guys recommend a tuner upgrade for a NG-3? A direct replacement that doesn't need any extra holes drilled is preferred. I've had 2 4-string NG-3s for about 2 years now. Out of all of the basses that I own (about 15), these are the worst at tuning up and then staying in tune. Hopefully a better tuner will help with both of these issues.

TIA,
