What type of pre does that one have? When did you sell it, at the beginning of the year?
I have been wondering if the Wenge contrast layer does a little something to the note attack/tone because of how rigid Wenge is. My Z has a Wenge contrast layer and I have wondered if it’s part of mine’s secret sauce.
but man dingwall necks are next level.
It should have a glockenklang in it unless it was modified. Sold it this year I believe.
I really don’t know. I’m a believer of tone wood. I would say this had a more open sound then my green/purple one.

It also makes me excited for my 6, which will also be an obnoxiously bright and awesome color.
Was supposed to be an October delivery, but Dingwall is running a little behind.
I remember you had one that fit that same description but had to give it up due to house work or something right? glad you have another on the way.
When I first tried the Pressurewounds, there was definitely a few times where my finger would slam against the string and bounce right off
but got used to the tension, and was able to lower the action quite a bit too.
oh no haha, it was sold on reverb for probably the highest price id irresponsibly consider. if they just bought it to put it up for sale again I'm sure it'll be for more. Even then, I'm just learning to love the AB2, I have no experience with Dingwall 6ers and it wouldn't be smart to go all out on a Z 6 before even knowing how I like the necks,
Just a FWIW, it sold outside of reverb. I think it could be had less then listed price.

Yeah. I had a bright yellow ABI with a wenge neck.

The six necks are just so playable. I had never owned a six prior… but this bass instantly clicked.
i currently have mine in b flat, f… then standard tuning. It is a bitch of a catch all for me

Hmm... Just like the one I played for a while. If it is the same one, it also has FDV pickups in it.
If I didn't just buy a darkray I'd probably of snagged that up. I'm really wanting to get an AB though.

I bought a used Dingwall Afterburner I in very good condition (probably built in 2012).
But I'm not able to adjust any intonation screw bolts with the supplied Allen key, because the supplied Allen key seams to be a tiny bit to big.
On the Dingwall zip bag with the Allen keys is written that the white Allen key is used to set the intonation. Measured with a digital caliper, the white Allen key is 5/64" inch. Is that the correct Allen key size for the intonation screws?
If so, is there a special trick to fit the Allen key into the intionation screw bolts or what could I do wrong?

Pretty certain the white one should do it. Oddly, I think your shrink sleeves may perhaps be reversed. The white should be the smaller of the 2 wrenches.

The white and blue Allen keys are the same size of 5/64" inch which is 1.98 mm. Should they have difference sizes? Is that the issue?

ah yes. Sounds like someone goofed putting your wrench set together probably on their own. Probably a simple oopsie.

That would be easy to solve - hope you're right. I will try a 1/16" wrench but have to order one first, because in Germany we use millimeter sizes only. 1/16" translates to 1,5875 mm. I tried a 1,5 mm before which was a bit too small. So 1/16" might work. I'll report back. Thanks alot for your hint!
Just got the bass yesterday. It was a long run to get this bass. If I get the intonation fixed I sure will be very happy with this Dingwall. It plays like butter with the Chromes on the fretless fingerboard and sounds very good in BEAD tuning.
