Awesome! The only emails I get from John Fox say “deposit on account for Dingwall Z3 received - thanks”:D

But mine is in the pipeline and probably still raw lumber in the wood room. It’s fun to live vicariously through other player’s builds as they slowly but surely get finished and delivered. I can’t think of many builders posting daily production photos of the instruments in process on social media.

My Z3 build is 7 months overdue with no word and no time estimate. :( Had my dealer ask last week and they couldn’t give an answer, apparently. For the record, that means 25+ month wait time at the mo (that’s where my order is currently sitting, and I assume orders are prioritized by order date for the most part). Still enjoying my NG3-6 so all is cool.

You’ll get there, and when you spot a glimpse on Dingwall’s social media, your excitement will start making YOU as super antsy as those of us who have spotted them lately, and you’ll post here about it, too.

As it is, half the reason I posted about JFB’s email is that since CJC6 and AmazingMumford have both spotted their basses in close proximity to mine in these recent pics, theirs are at pretty close to the same point in the process as mine is, and therefore theirs should ship very soon, too.

The ultimate is when they make a video with your bass before it gets shipped out, post pics of it on social media, and then use photos of it as an example on the website :D

Yeah Im pretty sure its just the regular long scale TIs that people use and not a specific "dingwall style". I bought a pair to try out on my NG2 but I havent thrown them on yet. I know people love them but it's my first time trying them and I've been too in love with that extra stainless zing to make the swap yet.

Payson does make a specific "for dingwall" flats as well as the offering the TIs in their dingwall section so you would be fine with either.

Thanks! TI's are a little pricey, so I wanted to "measure twice, cut once" this time.

I have not installed any, but the D-Bird I bought used came with TI flats on it. They play pretty nice. If I ever get the fretless I want, they’re on the list to consider.

The only places you can get the mixed sets of TI’s are Payson and Fretnation I think.
The long scale TIs fit but you might want a shorter G (certainly the case for Supers).

The Payson flats are a drop in fit. I’ve got them on my D bird, and they sound and play great. This set got a few months of break in on the AB, and they went on the Dbird like they had found a forever home.

TI’s take bit more finessing, and mixed lengths, but it’s totally worth it.

I just ordered a set of the TI rounds from the Talkbass store, $59. I’m not sure which bass they will go on. I’m hoping they fit the AB four string, but maybe it’ll be the Cirrus. I’ve been wanting to try these for years, but I usually just buy the flats.

I’ve used Infeld superalloy super longs on the longscale Dingwalls. A very nice set.

The TB store has some deals going on as they are closing it down.

Ive used both TI flats and Payson flats on my AB2 and NG's. I prefer the Payson flats by a LONG mile. For me the TI's were just flop city and had zero sustain - perfect if that's the sound you're shooting for however. The Payson flats remind me a lot of the "reformulated" Sadowsky Blue label flats before Warwick started producing them.
