I know that I am typically raving about my Z but man I am really enjoying the Super (P)J 4 string too. The ACG/East preamp is amazing and the Payson Nickels are sounding great. I am feeling grateful to be able to have & enjoy these two lovely instruments.
I don’t get to play my supers very often but sure have a hard time putting them down once I pick one up. They still have such a great B string and the necks are sooo luxurious to play.
one actually just officially joined the family this weekend.

Hi all,
I have recently become an owner of a Dingwall Combustion 2 Swamp Ash natural finish with a maple fretboard. So far it just blows my mind. I got used to the fanned frets quite quickly. Also the passive tone is very impressive. I still have to experiment with the EQ though. So far I like bridge and neck pickups in series best. What a huge sound and very usable for multiple styles. Nice to meet you all!

Morning all. Was wondering if anyone has a spare Hipshot tuner that they'd be willing to sell to replace the drop tuner that was installed on this bass. I have emails out to Hipshot and Dingwall as well, but I thought I would try here too. The shafts definitely look shorter than the drop tuner

I would have an original Dingwall tuner for you, but shipping from Germany would probably be prohibitive. The easier solution for you would be to re-string your new bass and make sure to put a couple of windings onto the longer post of the lowest string, thereby forcing it down towards the headstock - at least, it worked for me when I was still using hipshot extenders.
I know that would be the easier method, and it would work fine, but the engineer in me would prefer all of the tuning posts the same length. Since I won't use the D-tuner, I'd rather just replace the tuner.

Nice bass! Probably worth reaching out to a couple DW dealers to see if they can help out, too. Sometimes they have an easier time getting ahold of the shop and other vendors.
Thanks for the idea. I'll give Dingwall and Hipshot 48 hours to respond, and if I don't hear anything, I'll reach out to JFB since I have an order in with him already.

Welcome to the addiction
I took the Z out for the first rehearsal last night... ACGCFBb tuning, put on a new set of Payson NPFS 130-35 with a .110 low C. 
I loved it, the band loved it, the bass almost played itself
However I did make a pickup change. The SFII + Glock combo was just way too "MTD-ish" for my liking. I had zero prior experience with the Glock pre, I wasn't sure what to expect. The SFII's were HUGE sounding in passive, I love them on my reggae bass with flats, but that wasn't what I was after here. Don't get me wrong - this was an ABSOLUTELY KILLER TONE, just not mine. I swapped the FD3's from my NG3 6'er and now we.... are... cooking!! I was already used to the FD3 tone, but the big kicker was how much FULLER the notes are with the pickup placement being closer to the neck than on the NG. Still cuts like a machete through a sapling- but the notes just have this weight now. Like heavy, lol..
First gig is saturday. Will post video for sure.

Finally got my Darkglass Dingwall 35th Anniversary pedal last night. Immediately added to my pedal board and it will never come off! Sounds fantastic!

The swank factor is definitely high on this one.
The fretboard grain is way cool and I like the little bits of color on the backside.
