I put TI flats on both Super and AB Dingwalls. On the five strings, I needed shorter saddle screws on the B strings. Occasionally, the E string would need the same thing. The screws it came with would bottom out before I was happy with the set up. Not a huge deal, you can find the stainless cap heads at most well stocked hardware stores. Less than a buck each.
The standard length five string set works for the Supers. The longscale AB-1’s needed a set with mixed lengths, and Jason at FretNation set me up.
I wasn’t a huge fan of that whopping .136 B string, (or low Bs in general) so the five strings ended up E-C. The six string AB was magic with TI flats, B-G.
I found I could switch between TI flats and DR pure Blue rounds .040 sets with very little set up messing around. When the round wound mood strikes…
