Cool. I've never seen a carbon fiber cab.
I didn't realize they were a thing until JFB did the demo for my bass and included a bunch of them.
Even the 810 was light!
What's the difference between carbon fiber and composite? I have a 115 composite ThunderChild V1 4 ohm which is 32 lbs. Best for Country IMO.
Weight for one, I have a 115 GR carbon fiber and it weighs like 19lbs. I got it paired with a 210 GR powered carbon fiber and the band stated it's the best sounding rig they've heard.

Nice combo! My 2x12 weighs 26 lbs. I literally laugh when I pick it up.
How are you finding the sound? Handle the B string well? I assume the is the 212Slim? Interested in these, but a little worried about the durability of the carbon fibre panels..... any feedback is appreciated

Yeah, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of feedback on these cabs other than the weight.
Question for the club - With the sheer volume of people modifying these already great basses - Do you think 40-50 years from now, people will look at this club, like we do looking at early 1970's Fender mods, and say "What the hell we're these guys thinking!" Lol.
Probably not the imports, well except that one with the terrible inlays that’s done a few laps of the continent. I’m kinda glad I can’t find a pic of it
I hear you. I about fell on my ass when I first unpacked each cabs and pulled them out of their boxes, you just expect more weight when you see them. And comments on sounds, both cabs hold the open B no problem. You might expect rattle because of weight, nope.
I’ve modded my Z2; it’s a passive Z3 now.
Anything I do to the bass, I try to do as cleanly and professionally as possible - but I didn’t buy the bass for resale, I bought it to play.
And everything I’ve done has made me enjoy playing it even more.
Ya never know...Great grandkid can be like "why did he put that stupid 6 way in? Didnt he know that bridge solo alone is worth like 50,000 space bucks?"
My SJ has gone through a pickup selector switch change, and a pickups swap. Both are reversible but still technically modifications.
My SJ5XXX has an FD3, Ptone and FDV, easy to reverse mods.
There are a few Canadian basses out there with ‘interesting’ mods and a few with bad refinishes.

Also, club, idk it might be just me but stuff like "pickup swap" is barely a big deal since it's easily reversible. It's not that hard to do. I was thinking more in the terms of serious commitement, like, drilling here and there. That's way more involved.
Was it yours that magically ended up being purple? Someone here had their Super J become purple IIRC!
Other than custom pick guards, the most adventurous I've gotten was installing a Payson bridge, black HipShot tuners, and Canadian knobs on my NG-2...
