Always helpful to add your location to your TB identity. Folks will just assume you are in the USA, with easy access to US suppliers. Otherwise, and even if you clearly state your location, you will get lots of not very relevant advice.

Luckily, there are plenty of Canadian Dingwall players who have solved the string thing.

Shipping to Canada from the US is a minor hassle, but doable. I’d still inquire with FretNation and Payson, if only for solid advice.

They may work great, i just know on that BTB it was flop city.

One thing to consider, which may have contributed to the "floppiness", the BTB MS series have a longer distance from ball end to tuner post than the dingwall basses do. Like an inch or so more, if i'm remembering from the measurements we took at the time. He didnt want to use DW strings for whatever reason so we searched for something else that would fit.

Sorry to be a pest; I am trying to find the 'perfect strings' for the 4-string Dingwall NG-3 I posted a couple of pages before (for Drop-A, heavy tones)

I'm located in Canada and have ordered three or four sets from Payson Strings. They went straight to my mailbox. No customs or anything.

I highly recommend their strings!

Hello! AB Nate, I did indeed do what you recommended. Kept my search parameters very wide ('BEAD') for this thread, and... it looks like I need to do research about the shipping options from some of the 'obscure' online string sellers - I am based in the Great White North.

ANYTHING other then USPS/Canada Post combination is a HARD NO... For example, UPS is one of the very few capitalist entities on which I wish ill , despite knowing about the mouths its employees feed... Sheer corporate greed with fully arbitrary and totally greedy 'customs brokerage' fees... Sometimes exceeding 100%... Never lower than 25%.

I hear what your saying and I’ll keep my comments on the expense of logistics and bureaucracy aside here but at the end of the day the world is what it is and no matter what you buy these days it comes with some form of a luxury tax.

FWIW, my go to strings are Paysons who does have some specialty BEAD sets and he ships quickly and as cost effectively as possible. Not to mention, he’s not in favour of excessive implemented fees either but has to abide by law.
I’m not sure where you’re at in Canada but at least in Ab here we only have 5% GST. Feels a bit less painful then other provinces.

side note. 1 thing I’ve experienced with shipping is I always ship air when possible.
Brokerage fees get applied when less expensive ground options are selected. I’ve gone and self declared a few times to avoid some brokerage when a package had to come by ground.

I ordered some Payson flats for my 6 string on sale at Black Friday. They were back ordered. Still haven’t received them. I’m disappointed.

I ordered Payson flats for my 6 string months ago. Still haven’t received them but he explained they would be available by the end of the first quarter. I suspect he has to wait for the manufacturer to get to his order being a small, specialty retailer.

he’s informed me of that on a few occasions when I placed orders. Good thing I don’t wait til last minute to place orders.

This IMO is a fantastic tool!
That is pretty Much how I anticipated it would look aside from the P tone. I didn’t suspect it would have such a scoop looking curve.

I really like the way the DGTC emphasizes mids and high mids by its very nature (even without boosting, just turning it on). It pairs up nicely with the SF2s in my Z.

Same here. Also I was hearing more highs in the SFII videos from DW and JFB.
