Lol, oh the SFII fits fine in the hole. It’s that the route is too big and the p’up magnets won’t line up with the strings on the SPJ.

Some of you might go, “well duh”, but until I got them in my hands, it didn’t occur to me.
I bought the SFII set last week (thanks again Rev) with the intention to try one in the bridge position of my SPJ and/or maybe try them in a D-Roc.
Well, the p’ups in the SPJ/J are longer as they’re on a steeper angle vs the D-Roc and other 3X four stringers even though the string spacing is the same (19mm).
Now when I look at pics of the basses in question, it’s plainly obvious to my discerning eye that they’re different lengths but it never occurred to me before as I guess I wasn’t focusing on it enough.
Anywho, that’s my PSA for Friday.
There will be no SFII/FDV/P-Tone comparo forthcoming from my SPJ4.
So it’s D-Roc or bust. Which I don’t have atm

The only thing you're local dealer would have to go to Dingwall would be for unique finish or something "off the menu" so to speak (which, from what I've been told, even asking for "off the menu" options right now gets dealers in hot water). The local dealer should have a PDF price list that they can work you a quote from otherwise.
I contacted the agent in Australia as I want a Super J and he sent me the Canadian price list.
I was surprised looking at those charts honestly cause FDVs in my ABZ feel absolutely opposite to what is shown in diagram…

All price lists I have gotten are in CAD. The invoice I recently received for my SJ was also in CAD.
I tried their nickel strings many years ago and found them a bit too dull in the top end. What’s positive is that they can make pretty much any string gauge you want
Plus my local dealer will be required to collect 9.25% sales tax! I just did what Dingwall told me to do and went to the TN dealer they provided. Agreed, better alternatives. I have purchased from John Fox back in 2019, as well.
I’ll echo that. My first Dingwall bass was from JFB, picked entirely because he had the D-Roc standard I wanted in stock, and it was a very fortunate choice indeed. His incredible customer service caused me to come back within a month of getting it, to order my first NG3 6-string, and then when I had made up my mind to get a custom build, he rose even more to the occasion. Frankly, I went to Jason at FretNation for my order for an NG3 6 set up in F#0 because JFB was already expending so much care in making sure I got what was perfect for me that I didn’t want to burn the man out. Jason gave me excellent customer service with that NG3, to include my adding some customization at FretNation’s shop, as well as hooking me the hell up with some string orders. Both men are really good customer service, with the caveat that I’ve never ordered a custom D from Jason, so I can’t comment.
I second that opinion, I’m sure I’ve been pretty annoying with questions, change of minds, and many not-really-on-the-menu requests, but he has been patient, responsive, and as you said, John is always involved as if he was ordering the bass for himself.
