Dingwall Owners Club

Hello fellow Dingwallers! I'm curious what pickup setting you all prefer on your 3-pickup basses. I play in a classic rock band and find that the neck pickup on my NG3 works really well for just about everything. On tunes where I want more mids, I go for the bridge/middle position. What about you all?
Same here :)

Who is in favour of a headless Dingwall like the Strandberg Boden below?

It’s not always the best choice, but my favourite is bridge solo. I’m running an active blend, with a switch to change between Neck/Bridge and Middle/Bridge.

I spec'd a D-Roc switch for my Afterburner so I can solo the middle pickup. I love it. The best comparison I can make is to a P bass with in-your face attitude.

I had a Zon Vinnie four string. That bass checked all the boxes on my list, and I should have loved it.

Alas, me and Vinnie never really clicked. The view from the driver’s seat was weird. I’m not sure the headless thing is for me.

I checked out the Ibanez ehb, and same thing. It just didn’t work for me.

I think the market for headless is a sliver that might not need to be pursued.

I had an EHB that I LOVED!!! I mean 6lb bass with a 35" B, Aguilar pickups and Nordy pre; what's not to love? I bought it for a run of fly in gigs I had lined up. I ended up using it as part of a 2-4-1 that got me a killer deal on a bass I sold to fund a dream bass of mine that I just sold and out of all of the basses involved in the journey I miss the EHB the most. But I was only in it $800 and I couldn't come anywhere near making that bass happen at that price now.

Nice! How did you get that color?
It’s a limited edition run in Ducati White.
10 four strings and (I think) 40 fivers, worldwide. If I understand what I’ve read.
I bought this from Bass Freaks in Belgium.
They’ve got some stellar units there.
Not affiliated but a satisfied customer.

Isn’t Pierre great? I purchased the colour shift Sklar a month or two ago from him. Super efficient to deal with.
Congrats on the DRoc! I want a Ducati white something, just not sure what yet…

Yeah, that's why I asked, I knew of this limited European run. But you're in Canada so it didn't make sense. I also noticed you seem to have black Hipshots. Did those come stock?

Definitely with.

Glad you posted this. I've been considering having a clear Pickguard made for my SJ5. Now that I've seen this, I can say with confidence that even that would be a big nope for me.... :roflmao:
Even though I really like how the ash grain looks like, I also prefer it with. It compliments the entire look, in my opinion
