Dingwall Owners Club

My Sonic Super P launched from Saskatoon today and is expected to land at my house on or around the twenty-fourth!

Fantastic news, Ken!

Fed x never got mine moving out of Orlando until 5 this morning so I won't have it until Monday.

We'll have to compare serial numbers to see how close the basses are. I think that Sheldon once mentioned that they do small batch work where they can. The bodies probably made small talk while in the drying room for paint!

Ha!

I am really excited. Not just because our basses are done but all of the builds going on. There are some really nice basses being built. 2014 should be a fun year to live vicariously through other's builds.

Dude. I was thinking the exact same thing today. Buying two in one year will make me kick back and thrill vicariously through others' amazing new Dingwall creations in 2014! ;) I'm especially looking forward to watching the new crop of Super P/FD3's come to fruition. :bassist:

I'm planning a Super P 4 string with the FD3 bridge pickup, Hipshot D tuner, wedge neck and board (I prefer necks with no finish), white pearl guard, Luminlay side dots, in Capri Orange. I won't be ordering for a few months, however.

Well, my Super P5 is exactly 10 minutes from my home.........sitting there.......all alone........in the dark.

I contacted FedEx to ask if there was any way possible to pick it up. Unfortunately they told me I could not. :bawl:

Perhaps I'll take a sleeping bag, go down to the loading facility, and sleep next to the truck until the driver comes in Monday morning.

Take a sledge hammer, a crow bar and a couple of screw divers instead of the sleeping bag! :eyebrow::ninja::hiding:

What does Capri orange look like? Also, do you know how much the luminlays cost?

Side dots - $80, face - $120

My image search for Capri Orange found a specimen with a fancy "F" on it:

Exactly, though that photo is a little brighter, less 'creamsicle' than the real deal. It's a little closer to these two:

I acquired a CIJ Fender P through the Classifieds here a few years ago, after searching for months once I realized it was the color I was looking for. My hopes are that the Super P in Capri Orange will be the last bass I need for a good, long while. I'm hoping Sheldon won't mind if I send an actual paint chip from my P bass, as I don't want to leave anything to chance, since there's a lot of variation in the color when looking at photos online.

Every time I see Capri Orange with a maple neck, I wonder if wenge is really the way to go, but I just love the feel so much.

The hue of your precision has surely faded with time and UV exposure. I think that providing an actual chip would be the best thing to aid Sheldon in achieving your desired finish.

Very cool. It's good that they're now accepting to do custom colours in the Super series. When I was inquiring about a SuperP early on, it was what was on the list and that was it.

Yup, very excited for the custom color option. It's actually cheaper than a few of the stock color options, too! I was gonna settle on Candy Tangerine until I scrolled a little further and saw the custom option line. Now, to wait for the ol' tax return, so I can make the down payment!

The sonic blue custom charge was very reasonable (half the price of most options). :)

Is the retail price list on line now, or do we still run Barry down for a copy of the 2014.

Oh checkbook, why do you forsake me?

I don't know that it is online. I usually ask Barry via e-mail. My checkbook is on a long hiatus. I'm good - my fabulous four will keep me inspired for years...
