I'm not worried about updates; it'll get here when it does. I'm talking about the current fluidity of the final price.
So no price hikes on the imports? Those are ultimately imported from Canada to the US.
Ah got ya. Yeah I don't think that will be an issue here in Europe thankfully. If I'm understanding things correctly with how things currently are of course.
There are tariffs on stuff manufactured in China, and there are tariffs on products from Canada. Will the SP-1 be subjected to one, the other, or possibly even both because of its "hybrid" manufacturing ? Or is it immune from the new US tariffs as has been suggested upthread? I have no idea. All I'm saying is the long boring wait has gotten more interesting. At least for me.

I love how block inlays look on stage 
It's based on country of origin and the value of the product when it crosses the border. For some things they have to go down to the component level. Can't say much more as it's getting close to bumping up against politics. We live in interesting times.
Are there any differences between the NG’s maple neck and the Canadian Maple neck ones? Like Carbon bars, quality of the wood or neck stability?

Just spotted that my Super P is featured on the DW instrument gallery 
A few. They have a comparison page on the website.
The main difference I believe will be the fretboard radius.
Just posted this in the YouTube/Social Media section. My Dingwall was the bass of choice that night.

With Canadian Dingwalls and the price they carry, they really give you the best of the best in terms of fit, finish and things like wood selection. It's sort of overboard though - you'll still get a great, stable neck with an NG and have it in your hands much sooner, for significantly less money.
Hey guys, I'm considering my next Z3-6 build. With this one, I'm looking to replace my NG-6 in terms of tone as I greatly prefer the Z in terms of feel.
I already have a Z3-6 with FDV/DG, ash/maple with wenge board, which I love, of course.
The main use of this next bass is my current deathcore band, and other technical metal. Aesthetically, I want a simple matte black body and a dark wood neck and fretboard.
My goal is to retain as much of the aggressive NG sound as possible but in a Z with a dark wood neck. Do you think I should go with an alder body (like the NG) and roasted ash neck with FD3 pickups? Or keep with the standard ash body/wenge neck and FDVs? Or maybe it makes little difference since tonal subtleties would be masked by all the distortion anyways
I've never had my hands on either wenge nor roasted ash, and not in combination with either pickup option either of course. Curious if there's any experience out there.

IME where I also play tons of tech/death and prog... by the time you get under all the effects and full mix, it hardly matters. I'd go with what feels and looks how you want first. I I have FDV and FD3 loaded Zs, one with a glock and the other, upcoming, with a Neve. I've even used the "old" square pickups with bluEQube and barts with various body/neck woods. While waiting for my Super P custom order to enter production my needs have changed, and I decided to prioritize what was going to be my next custom order for the build slot I currently have in the queue. I just coordinated with Chad at The Bass Shop here in Seattle. He called Dingwall and gave them my specs, and they said that my order had not yet entered production, and that it would be no problem getting my changes in. I'm just waiting on an updated quote before locking in. I'll reveal what I was going to get, and what I may end up getting as soon as it's confirmed. Stay tuned... 
JFB sent me a video which he received from Dingwall of my next Z.

Less good news - it's... not truly what I had in my mind's eye when I drew it up and so on. The inlays didn't turn out, and, the finish on the body - while stunning - didn't really match my drawing or spec.
Dingwall offered to "rebuild" in their email to JFB, and, I'm going to have to take them up on that. I don't yet know if that means 3-4 months for re-production, or longer, but, it'll be whatever it is, and I hope they don't feel any need to rush or anything.
It was neat to see it before it left Canada and be offered the opportunity to look it over like this.
Wood finishing is difficult - I have my own struggles there with much simpler (compared to a full on bass) objects. I don't full well know what "rebuild" means, but, it'll be what it is and take whatever time it takes. In the end I'll get a killer bass from the best in the business. In the meantime, I have plenty of Dingwalls to keep me company, too.

Something similar happened to my SJ. There was a mistake on the finish and they informed me about it in January last year.
They said I could have the bass as is or request a rebuild at no charge.
Then I received the rebuilt bass in early May.
Gotcha! So "rebuild" is pretty much what it sounds like, they'll completely make another bass. I wonder if I need to choose a new top now though - guessing I will. Better go look at the wood room haha.
Also sounds like it's kind of the typical build time then, 3-4 (ish) months. That's alright by me. Heck, maybe some sanity will prevail somehow and the tariff BS will stop by then.
