For the flats lovers out there.

Sheldon's P's are truly super. :bassist:

Are those Tomastik flats? :) Nice tone!

Thanks! I love this bass, nice P tone, but it has its own thing going on, a little more modern, I would say.

Oh yes, TI Flats!

It’s recorded through the iPhone mic, so it sounds a little nasal.

It’s going through:
- Fairfield The Accountant,
- Ftelettronica Sub-Octaver,
- JPTR Jive,
- Trickfish Minnow,
- QSC CP12 speaker.

This octaver is great, I have it on just to give a fatness to the signal after the accountant and before it goes to the Jive, to give that “tube” saturation. Then, the Minnow does the EQ.

Hey all,

Been a Dingwall Combustion 6 owner since Sept 2024. Been listing for one of these for years. Added the 6 way pickup selector from FretNation. Jason and his team are all badasses! The last and most recent mod is some Neck Illusions inlay stickers.

What an incredible instrument. IMO way more versatile than just putting a crap ton of distortion on it and looking at them as only metal basses.

Totally sweet! I achieve tonal satisfaction with a custom-spaced (20mm between poles) AlNico V Nordstrand NP-4a pickup and nickel round-wound strings. The only box between the bass and amp is a Broughton Audio Hi/Low-pass filter. I did the pickup swap years ago, when Dingwall had the time and were considerate enough to ship empty shells to Nordstrand for a nominal fee. I am blessed with awesome tone.

Couple killer action shots of my Z from our victory in Round One of the Wacken Metal Battle in San Diego last night. We beat 5 other bands and move on to Round 2 May 17th. Can't believe we won our Battle!!

You got a beautiful overdrive tone, in my opinion. Sounds great!

I put down a deposit for a 5-string SP1 today, Ducati White with the tort pick guard. It's in the second batch, I think, so I probably won't have it until July or August, according to the dealer. That gives me time to sell one or two other basses to help pay for it!

Beautiful bass!

I am very curious to hear the P pickup. I saw in a video Sheldon Dingwall talking about it and saying it was sounding great, more like a vintage P sound. He also said they were considering putting it as an option for other basses.
