Oh hey, thanks for this! I literally was watching these 3 last night (among hours of others) trying to get an idea of the tones. Even though there's only 15-20 seconds of ads in between, it was still a little tricky to fully get the different vibes. Gonna check this out when I have a chance!
I'm building myself a cross between an AB and an ibanez EHB. Agonizing over pickup options. I'm sure that must be what it's like ordering a custom! I was originally going to be cheap and opt for a single pickup "in the sweet spot", but I play pretty much 100% of the time in B/N parallel with FD3 in my ABII. If you have thoughts and opinions, feel free to share!

What's the best right angle cable to use with an NG3? I use Rattlesnake Cables and it keeps popping out.

Finally after wanting a Dingwall for the past 10+ years, I am now part of the family! I got this off of reverb today, and it's exhilarating.
I've been playing other multiscales for a good long while now, so I'm not new to the concept, but this takes it beyond what I was expecting. I only recently got to play an actual Dingwall when I was in Japan recently, and the feel and tone was instantly what I was looking for.
In the month I've been back, I've been weighing my options and looking at finances, when I saw this Z2 on reverb that I had been looking at before and had considered getting. I showed my wife, and she told me to get it.
In short, it makes me feel like I'm suddenly much more proficient as a musician. Techniques and riffs that were giving me trouble on my LTD multiscale and Ibanez EHB were suddenly effortless, even at much faster speeds than I was previously capable of. And the tone? I didn't even touch the knobs and it was perfect. It's hard to believe the gap in between what I had previously thought were amazing basses and my Dingwall, but I'm 100% a convert now.

I'm getting my first Dingwall tomorrow that I got off of the classifieds here. I love 5 strings but the B string has always been a let down, even on 35" string through basses. Hoping this will do the trick!

The B-string on my Combustion 5 converted me to Dingwall. Now Im the lucky owner of a Z3 and have an SP1 on order! Dingwall is addicting!
I got my deposit in with John Fox Bass last July for a custom build. My number came up and the build sheet just got sent to Dingwall.
I like the Sklar but wanted a few changes that aren't allowed (Neve preamp, S/P toggles, and side luminlays), so I came at it with a Z3 spec:

It is basically 95% of the specs that I would have done for my own custom build, without the waitlist. Plus it's here in time for tracking, lol. Wasn't sure about the SFII pickups or the glockenlang preamp (no experience with either), and I would have preferred a Z3, but after I plugged it in, I was beyond sold with the electronics. I’d say that is a pretty solid entry into the Dingwall world
I’m wanting to shake things up on SJ’s controls. I’ve been enjoying active basses with a passive tone control in the circuit and have been contemplating adding a Tonestyler. My SJ has the Glock preamp. Does anyone know if it’s possible to remove the mid control from the preamp, effectively converting it to a 2-band version?
Those of you with toggles, do you think it was worth it? They are a pretty cheap addition, yet would be really a pain to add after the fact. The only reason I can see not to get them is for aesthetic reasons, just looks cleaner to me with the 5 knobs in an arc.
It probably will work, but the mids might be all the way open or closed. Might be hard to get it in the middle with the connectors "floating".
Maybe a stacked bass/treble, mid, and tone pot could work?
I might consider doing something like that to mine.

I have an email in to Glockenklang but I doubt they’ll respond any time soon, or at all. I’m trying to avoid stacked pots as there are no good Dingwall-style knobs that are stacked. I may just rip out the Glock and replace it with a Delano or other similarly clean voiced OBP.
I ordered some Payson Flats to try out on my ABZ after seeing the John Fox video. I like Dingwalls.I like flats. So, maybe these will work out great for me. It's getting close to time to change strings anyways, so a good time to experiment.

I don't know how the pickups are normally wired, but if the default is series I wouldn't bother getting the switches again because I just had them set to series all the time anyway.
