Yes. Probably should have held off for an SP-1, but I wanted a wenge neck
I recently built a PJ with a Wenge neck. It’s no Dingwall. Here’s a pic.

Wenge neck is, IMO, the best neck. Just something about how it feels is so wonderful. I do wish I could try the other Dingwall necks especially, but, I'm so happy with Wenge that I really don't think I'd change any of mine at all.
I am shocked that the 2 Dingwalls that I have bonded the most with have maple necks. I have always loved Wenge since 90s Warwicks. I had a killer Mopar Purple D-Bird with a Wenge neck that I custom ordered and then sold after awhile.
I bet I would love that bass today. When I got it I was having my 2nd kid and I realized that bands were off the plate for awhile. So, I wanted more modular synth gear instead.

I've been a fan of Wenge since way back in the early 90's when I saw an MTD in a store with this crazy looking neck and I thought it must be some kind of brown composite.
The best part of the delivery timing is that it beats the Aug 1st deadline / increase of the thing we're not allowed to speak of.
And grandfathered in with the old pricing
I was hoping to get a notification that mine would be shipped out soon. Doesn’t look like it. I can’t get any updates or information from anyone.
I have read so many reports of nothing but praise and service beyond expectation.

You have a custom on order right? I'd just send a quick email to the dealer and ask them for the status. They might be able to give you an update.
I went almost 3.5 or so months without asking after receiving a 2-4 month timeline and they still hit the original window.
Hope the bass arrives soon for you! It'll be worth the wait.
I have emailed my dealer but no response. Sent an email on 7/2.
I also tried emailing Dingwall and didn’t receive a response but I know they’re busy and from what I understand, it’s really why you go through a dealer,so I’m not going to bother them.
I’m not going to hound the dealer and be annoying. I used a highly recommended dealer and I know someday it will come.
Honestly, I don’t know what the original window is. I have been given so much misinformation and not been told anything clear and definitive.
Well, the only thing I’ve really been told and was the last update I received on May 22nd was this.
“You are one of my next expected to be completed. As soon as I see it is completed I will let you know”
I didn’t send another email until 7/2. I haven’t been pestering nor have I said anything in any kind of rude way.
I remain calm and patient.
I don’t really expect a response until it’s completed, that was made clear.
I just haven’t had the same experience as everyone else, not sure why but that’s life.
Edited for clarity: I went back and found that when I made my deposit I was quoted 18 months to completion . I’m creeping up on 21 months.

That's why I couldn't pass up on a new D-Roc.
Don't tell my other basses, but my maple/maple/swamp ash Super P with custom AlNico V Nordstrand NP-4a (in Dingwall shells!) is my favorite.
As of early this afternoon Glaser Instruments in Nashville has my NG3 for diagnostics & repair. According to my contact at Dingwall they were going check everything this afternoon. Hoping they get it repaired tomorrow and back out the door so I can have it for two gigs this weekend. If not, no biggie. I just want it to be right when I get it back.

Wonder if we’ll see an SJ1 if the SP1 is a big success (seems like it will be based on these first batches). The SP1 seems to nail everything it was created to do. My biggest knock on it is that I prefer J basses which of course I can’t fault it for 
I haven't taken the pickguard off yet, would be very cool if it was easy to drop a J neck pickup with a new pickguard...

Soon Im going to be joining the family, I will get an NG3 5 string. Im not that much of a fan of the pickguard on it, so Im already looking for some custom solution that I can buy or maybe craft, like make something swirly from resin or so on, but Im interested in some inspiration, can you guys show me your custom pickguards?
