I got my NG3 back from my local guitar tech yesterday; a month or so ago he swapped in FDV pick-ups and this time round he very kindly swapped out the 4-way rotary for the 6-way and replaced the DG tone capsule with a 3 Leaf Anima. I have an Anima in a jazz bass too and love how crisp it is and it works very well here with the natural clarity of the NG3. I opted use the switch as a passive/active switch and the mid control controls the high mids only now.

Just popping in with these two beautiful Canadian D-Rocs I found this month in the EU, in 4 and 5 strings. Absolutely stoked with them, love the neck illusions for the 4 banger.

That blows. Temperature? Humidity? Pretty nuts.

Humidity will straighten the neck out and reduce relief.

Has anyone ever had their B string basically just reset or something? I had zero buzz last night, played for like 2 hours no issue. Just plugged in and by low B is buzzing open. I didn't adjust or touch bridge. What could have happened? I just had the guitar set up about 3 weeks ago and have had like 6 shows and playing pretty consistently.

Loosen your truss-rod (counter-clockwise) by 1/8 - 1/4 turn. That should clean up a buzzing open note or lower fret buzz.

PS: Waiting on custom parts for the top mount Minimalist. We'll make an announcement on our Socials when they are ready to ship.

FINAL UPDATE (probably): if anyone is familiar with my ongoing story of problems with a newly received NG3 you be interested in this.

Dingwall sent me new electronics and a prepaid label to send the bass to Glaser Instruments in Nashville TN for diagnostic and repair. Things couldn’t have gone better.
The whole process took 3 days including shipping and I received the bass late yesterday. I hooked it up this morning and all I can say is WOW. It had fairly low action when I received it, but what I received from Glaser was nothing short of phenomenal. The action is super low either way zero fret buzz. If I were to guess they may have PLEKed it.

Anyway, I’ve never received customer service like this. Many thanks to Sheldon Dingwall who got involved, Michael McDougall of Dingwall and Blaise Black of The Vibrato Bar (my dealer).

Denver doesn't have a Dingwall dealer so it's hard to try these basses without buying them. A friend hosts a monthly open jam in Cheesman park, I brought the SP1 yesterday and it got a ton of attention. Multiple people walked up off the path and said "is that a Dingwall?"

It’s fantastic. Raising the action a bit with the shim and swapping the strings brought out the tones I like in a PJ. It’s a really nice instrument. The series setting is monstrous.

Those inlays on the 4 string are gorgeous...The colors they reflect are very cool. Sweet bass!

The finish on the 4 string is really dark purple that fades to black. I hadn't seen this color on a Dingwall before really looks great. Both maple necks - I would have loved a wenge neck but these maple necks are superb, smooth, and the Dingwall has the best balance of any bass I've ever tried. Super happy with both.
