It looks like it has a lot of AB lineage in it, at least to my eyes.
Heard from Jason. These are going to be somewhat like the Fastlane line. Canadian but with limited options. Any preamp with or without toggles.
Unless I'm missing something it sure looks like they could pull it off with any of their model lineup. That could actually be a pretty good looking choice too.

That was one of the clues that made me think this was based on ABsI hope they offer a wenge neck option

it looks more balanced on the ABs if there’s also a maple head but there’s no head here to balance it out so it REALLY stands out, glaringly
Headless and the new Droc sig look great.

Real talk. I’m a bit worried with the Effigy body shape. I see almost no body contouring at all. Most especially where the right arm sits which is where comfort is paramount. Maybe a slight softening of the edge.
Could be just the angle of the pictures and videos as well as the color masking it. That’s my hope anyway. I’ve played a few basses without any right arm contour and I did not enjoy them.

The back has no ergonomic contours, too. While I personally love my slab Music Man Classics (to offer a counterpoint to your experience), this does indeed seem like an odd decision, especially in contrast to the popular Ibanez EHB series.
Wildly speculating, but maybe this is a way to keep costs lower? That would be in line with some of the Fastlane DNA we’re seeing.
However, Bass Direct (UK dealer) is speaking of "around ABII money" on fb … Maybe it’s a hollow build, then? That might be another reason to do away with contours.

I cannot put my new Z down. It's been a long, long time since I've felt this motivated and inspired to practice and play. Definitely in that honeymoon high phase, but, damn. I just feel really connected with this one, almost similar to how I feel about my Prima Artist. It might even end up taking over that #1 spot from the PA. Gah.
