All look great! I like the gray pearloid but I think I’d go classic tort if it were me, but I’d keep both those two to switch it up from time to time and keep it fresh!

For whatever reason, Youtube defaulted to a hilariously bad auto dub for me. I had to switch the audio track to German, even though they're talking in English the whole time.

Hard to make up my mind, and I'm surprised how much I like the clear, but for me it's the Gray Pearloid. Looks absolutely classy without even trying!

If you’re on your mobile (aren’t we all?), go to your browser settings and change the browser language to German, just as @Subscript wrote above. (Also, uninstall the yt app and thank me later.) Then you will hear the original audio.
The white/clear one looks really good to me. I definitely prefer the redder Dingwall "tort" over the trad version. I've been musing about a black guard for my SP1, so that it matches my Fender P.
Same here, the uploader selected German as the original video language and YouTube, knowing that my settings are in English, offered the auto-dubbing thing. Most of their channel videos are in German.

The most expensive combustion model on the Long and Mcquade website is something like $3600 Canadian, so whoever is trying to sell b stock for $5k is out to lunch.
Could it be argued that the DRoc has a more vintage tone than the active NG3? The DRoc certainly has a modern look. I find the DRoc to be very versatile. My John Taylor has its own special thing going on. The B string is where it’s at with the Dingwall basses but the John Taylor is the best 4 string bass I have ever played. It has the best feeling neck of any bass I’ve owned. I got lucky and found one that had the 2024 price tag before the massive price increase. I purchased my DRoc in September 2024. I’ve never played the NG3 or the regular combustion models to really answer my DRoc vintage tone question.
No, can't argue that. The regular combustions and NG3s are even more "modern" sounding than your JT.
