Dingwall Owners Club

This tone is killer! Looks like he is just using an origin bassrig fifteen and cali76 comp. Curious how a long scale would sound with the same settings on the pedals. I do love the long scale clarity on the bottom end, sometimes I desire that sweet top end of the shorter SP1. 37"-32" :woot: Or maybe thicker D+G string? Extra LPF roll off?

This does sound really good. I wonder if he is adding anything extra in the DAW behind him?

I know some of you have an Effigy on order. Just wanted to suggest this pair of wire cutters as fitting in the Dingwall tool case. More difficult to cut the strings with the smaller tool, but the big ones don't fit the case. These seem to be a good quality and will hold up.

Sounds great! Not the point of the Insta recording, but this bald guy is definitely stealing your Mr. Clean Halloween costume idea. One of my friends already calls me "underdeveloped Mr. Clean" which is uncomfortably accurate.
I didn’t tell anyone who I was gonna be. Not even my wife. My boys wanted to be random last year. I held off letting my wife see my “costume” until minutes before we were leaving for a family Halloween party. She about fell on the floor laughing.

I'm a little unclear what you're looking for. Do you mean for ones you want to retrofit, or were you looking for a big announcement when basses started shipping with them?

Sorry for being unclear, I mean the ones for retrofit. I am aware that the Combustions have been shipping with the newer bridges for some time now. I've seen the NAMM photos of the green 6 string NG3 with the retrofit bridge, and the placard below it announcing them, but heard no mention otherwise.

Just a quick update in my NG3. If you recall I had problems with it when I purchased it last summer. I couldn’t get the plug all the way in the jack. Once that was solved it was cutting out occasionally no matter what cable I used.
It was shipped to Glaser Instruments in Nashville to replace the jack and preamp. After a while it started happening again. I tried several cables with the same results.
It went to the factory in Saskatoon just before NAMM. I just received word that it’s been gone through and the problem has been corrected. It shipped out today so I should have it in a few days.
The dealer was going to replace it, but the action and feel on this one is so goid that I didn’t want to part with it. It just fits me well.
I’m pretty excited so I hope you guys don’t mind but since this bass has spent the majority of it’s time in repair, or in a non-working status, that I plan on announcing it as a NBD when it arrives.😀

Dang. That sucks. But understandable.

Maybe it just needed some cold weather therapy to get sorted out. We had some near -40C/F days recently. Did they mention what the issue was? You must really like the bass to go through all this hassle, and I hope it's everything you dream of from here on out!

What’s on your wishlist from Dingwall?

2) A rotary with DIP switches for some variety in pickup selections.

Offering the well-established six-position rotary mod as an option would be a nice step toward that.

3) A Dingwall t-shirt. I want to represent!!
They offer a DROC T-shirt but it's weird they don't have a T with more generic Dingwall branding (but maybe something with a little more flair than the golf shirts).

Ernie ball released rechargeable 9V batteries
Less about the battery. I have plenty of rechargable 9v batteries (I even built a small charger into my rack, so I always have charged spares, too). For mine, I just plug a USB-C connector in and it charges the batteries while in the bass. In theory while even playing it, but, I've never proven that out 😂 granted it's already easy to pop the magnet cover and pull them out, but, just plugging a cable in is even easier. And I can use batteries with much more Ah capacity, so I get way, way longer run times than a pair of normal 9v batteries.
