If you are worried about the 35" vs 37" scale length B-string; well, nothing beats the 37". That being said, my SJ5 (P/J) gets the most playing time of my Dingwalls.
I haven't had a chance to play an ABZ or AB1, but I'll say my SP5 has a wonderful B-string. It requires no babying and sounds basically the same as the E string, which is really important to me. I like the bass so much that I'm having an FD-3 added.
Someday I'd love to get one of the 37" models, but the 35" scale manages to nicely toe the line between sounding Fender-ish and modern.

String spacing is a big difference.
Like I said, a few posts back, the tough choice is finish. Killer solid colors with candy options, or beautiful deep figured top with the tough clear finish.
I like a simple pick up scheme, too many choices boggle my mind.

Yeah, for the longest time I thought I would die if I didn't get a custom-color Capri Orange SP. But when I think of, and hear, how awesome my 37" B is, I lean towards the XXX.
I'm leaning towards a traditional sort-of burst finished ABZ XXX 5, but have kind of thought a AB1 XXX with one of their amazing flamed maple tops and a cherry-burst would kill without being too decorative.

That was ALWAYS the hardest part - making up my mind on which awesome finish to go with.

Bittersweet day, the SPZ is sold, packed up and on its way to Singapore on Monday. Hope it treats its new owner as well as it did me!
I felt similarly when I sold my Indigoburst AB-1 to fund my Stormy Monday SJ/P5. 
It was a tough decision to sell such a perfect bass in hopes of receiving one even more perfect, but that's how it worked out for me.

Man seeing that bass makes me rethink my statement above.
ABZXXX for me as a dream bass.
Deciding on a finish will be the hardest part. If I were getting a Super P, I know what color it would be. But the ABZ is harder.
When I originally bought my ABZ5, I was hoping for honey amberburst, but then the midnight blueburst came up for an amazing price, so I jumped on it.
I'm thinking (in no particular order) 2TS, 3TS, traditional burst, honey amber burst, or more of a cherry sunburst, or perhaps transparent orange.

I can't seem to look away.
I like the hard finish. It's easy to clean. Super tough.

It was harder for me to go to 5 strings from 4 than move to the fanned frets. Although I don't do a whole ton in the 12+ range where the fanning is the most extreme. My Afterburner 1 (alder body, maple top, 5pc maple neck, wenge board), was LIGHT. Easily around 8 pounds maybe a bit less. I had a 'featherweight' 73 Precision and the Dingwall beat that. My current one is probably right around 9 pounds. Sheldon does his best to balance weight with his dual-density bodies. The bodies aren't as big as they may look and his bodies are also thinner front to back than most basses, especially the Z and Prima series.
What colour option is that called!!!???!! If I get a Dingwall I am going with an AB1XXX in that colour! Absolutely killer!
The red / yellow / green is just unreal, but that goes without saying!
I wanted to try some roundwounds on my Super P5 (alder/morado). I ordered some of the medium scale Dingwalls (both nickel and steel). If I order some DR nickel Lo-Riders, should I get the 45/65/85/105/125 or 45/65/85/105/130 set?

I'm not a dingwall owner yet.. will be soon! And I'm not sure if this shameless plug is ok as I posted it also in the darkglass effect thread, but here goes... Felipe Gomez, as seen below producing awesome crazy tones with a B7K and a Dingwall is crossing Canada on a bike to raise some funds for charity.
Who knows, he might be biking near your place, if so, go say hi and lend him a dingwall! He's in Ontario right now and will be around montreal some time in september. When he gets here, I plan on shaking his hand! Who knows he might even hold a clinic around here or something.

And even if you're not into charity I really like his demo because it's just so much different then anything else out there, I know Doug from darkglass shared it on facebook, not sure about Sheldon. But here it is again!
