Well, an ABZ is an AB-I with a maple fretboard, matte finish and ash body. And it's cheaper than an AB-I. Might be just what you need :)

Oh, it's DEFINITELY what you need! For the price, I don't think you can find a better deal...Plays beautifully, sounds incredible.

Oh, sorry, I already said that stuff! I can't help pontificating about the merits of this fine instrument..

Well, it's not "juxtapose", but I tried...

Can't find the ABZ on the website.... what kinda price are we talking about?
It's not on the website. It runs for about ~$1700 as far as I know, +-$100. They have the same color options as AB-Is, only satin. I think they look better than AB-Is. See Invalid Link Removed.

You can also visit the Dealers list on the Dingwall website, that list is up to date.

I am beginning to get the feeling that Sheldon is really knocking this Z3 out of the park! Here are some recent photos which show what I think is a more accurate color to the tobacco burst.

What do you think of my pickguard? :smug:

Wow....

Tom.

When I saw the first pics of that bass I knew it was going to be in the "Top 5 Dingwalls of All Time" category(statistically likely that it's casting one of Fullrange's basses down to #6):ninja: . I've never seen wood with such a strong and even transect/dual figuring like this, and I've definitely never seen a piece of Walnut do this. We may be looking at a one in several million tree here, easily.
One Blonde and one Brunette now? You're a lucky man!

Yeah, Sheldon said he'd look around for a "special" top for me for this Z3, and when he sent me a pic of that piece of walnut, I knew we'd found "the one!" :D

Sheldon is a true artist, in every sense of the word. His art just happens to play and sound phenomenal, too! :bassist: :bassist: :bassist:

Now it looks even better than when I said it was the best finish I had ever seen in a Dingwall!

My reference for the best finish used to be some FBass' finishes, but now this is the one. Simply breath taking. I'm not going to die before having played that bass at least once! Hahaha...

I've never had another bass that was finished as well as either of my Dingwalls.

I've gigged them both and my AB1 I played exclusively for 3 years and I never babied it...and it's still pristine and that gloss is tough stuff that doesn't seem to scratch or crack like others.
