Dingwall Owners Club

...in the meantime, it looks like one of the true longtime Dingwall players was inadvertently removed from the list at some point in time. To make ammends, I'm I've been authorized by the home office to issue Lomo a one time special number of 88.

so I'm taking a quick break from practicing...With the idea of posting my new ABZ, but I am having serious, frustrating issues with posting a picture of it here.
Help!!!

The easiest way to post pics on TB is to upload your pics to a site like photobucket. After they are loaded, copy the URL and paste it in the body of your post, preview to make sure you have it right, and then walah, you got pics.

Now lets see that ABZ!!!!

You can also post in this fashion:

So ya had to put that after my ABZ?!?

Now, that's just MEAN!!!!

Beautiful, but mean!!!!
(LOL!)

If you ever play in the Cleveland area, let me know. I'd love to see it in person! WOW !!!!

Somethin' for me to shoot for!!!!

I know that spite was the last thing from Tom's mind...Those are both beautiful basses, I love the new ABX series basses, they're really a solid addition to the Dingwall line! Congratulations...you're now on the list:

Tom Bowlus, your bass has the best Dingwall finish I ever saw!

And on topic, in two weeks my sunburst Combustion is arriving. I was in London this week and went to The Gallery and talked to Alex about buying one and the deal got made. I tried one there and also got to try a Z. I must confess that the fan frets are easier than they look, but you can definetely tell the diference from a paralel in terms of playing. But the sound and the necks, with such low action... My god what awsome basses, I can't wait to hear that B string again!

Why thank you! I have to give some props to that rasta-burst, though. Man, that one blows me away every time!

Thanks Tom, I love it too...and can't take any credit for it, I mean besides the payments...

Sheldon does amazing work and he really made something special for me. Every time I pick it up I feel honored to have such a beautiful bass to play.

That top on yours is quite stunning...not to mention your Prima Artist from a ways back...that's a stunner too.

But of course! Kudos to Sheldon! :D

I hear you, there. It really is a privilege to be able to experience this kind of "functional art."

That Prima (almost but not quite an Artist) really was a nice bass, but I no longer own that one. It moved to Greece by the magnetic pull of Eddie's Dingwall collection. :D

Yeah, I can understand how once it goes past a certain point it becomes difficult to play an instrument to its full potential if you're afraid you might do it some damage! Luckily, I have no qualms about taking my bass out every chance I get. I also do my best to put it in the hands of as many other players as I can.

...Also, Sheldon finally built a bass that takes the focus away from the fanned frets and puts them on EVERYTHING else. The other night I handed it to someone after I'd been sound checking and it wasn't until he started playing that he noticed that the frets weren't parallel. That's not the first time either!
