Haha! I had been through a lot of rounds sampling cabinets from Ampeg, Mesa, Epifani, Genz Benz, etc. and while they were all fine cabinets, there is simply nothing quite like the Genzler Arrays. I was the guy that routinely turned tweeters mostly down or off, but the highs of the Arrays are so smooth that I wouldn't want to mess with it even if it had a control. Love them and they go together with Dingwall like peanut butter and jelly!
Thanks. I can't tell anyone it isn't absolutely amazing because then I would be telling a lie. Every single person in the crowd came up to tell me how great the bass sounds - every single person.
I thought the "old" bridge saddles were Hipshot designs? Can't say I've had an issue with the "old" saddles on my NG-2.
That's most likely what I am going to do. Play it for awhile and then figure out if a new NG-2 or perhaps a Canadian Dingwall is the next step and then sell it to fund that.
Same guy, yes. A great and accessible guy on TB named Jeff Genzler. The regular series of cabs will be very similar to the old offerings of Genz Benz, but the Arrays are just a whole different animal. The dispersion, smoothness across frequencies, and perfectly pleasant highs are something I had not found anywhere else. Not to mention that a single 12 at practice can crush the rest of the band and two at a gig can crush the rest of the band. I have four because I wish to crush the world at outdoor gigs. Lol!
I concur. I've played an Uber 410 and a 115, and the arrays are just awesome and a different experience. The low-end extension and even mids and highs of the BA 12-3 is a perfect complement to the Dingwall clarity and B string. Two of them not only moves more air, but there is an interaction that potentiates everything good about their response even more. Plus, you can carry one with one hand no problem. I have never wanted for more volume in anything I've done so far, and the stack of two has barely broken a sweat with either my Monique 700 or my Magellan 800. I am GASless for amps and cabs for the first time in my life. I wish I could say that I was DASless as well!!
Oh yeah, I should have mentioned that before the Arrays I had two GB Neox-212 cabs. And, agreed, these cabs cured the GAS. The only thing I can't stop being curious about is if I would like the Magellan 800 more than my Mesa D800.I concur.
