Dingwall Owners Club

I'm In, from France, Toulouse to be more "focus".I play on The Neko Light Orchestra, and some bands like "Bruit".

We make with the Neko Light Orchestra a cover of Light Of The Seven, from the Games Of Thrones soundtrack.

I always try to put forward my Dingwall NG-2 Ducati White to make known the brand in all my works, this time, I arrived from the foreground sceneI :D

Wow!!! Really cool.

I mentioned much earlier in this thread that I had an older ABI that had been modified with a Darkglass Tone Capsule by a previous owner. It is a 3 control model.

I took it to a shop recently. Here's what's on the menu:

  • Pickup swap to Nordstrand Big Splits
  • Remove DG Tone Capsule
  • Install two 500k pots for volume, one for each pickup
  • Install 5 way selector switch (in other words, restore it to factory spec) - since the Big Splits are not coil tappable, it will have two "dead" settings and will instead be functionally a pickup selector - neck solo, both, bridge solo
  • Install metal knobs on pots instead of stock plastic
I should get it back in two to three weeks. Pretty excited!

Yup..... and there is a strap blocking partial view. This strap brings out the purples in the burst I think

3!

I'm disappointed my NG2 didn't come with all the new updates. It's still a great bass!
Sounds and plays exactly the same, though. I can see the lure in upgrading to a 3x, but these sound killer as is.

That's the lure. I've been planning to get one for over a year and mod it to 3X, then the updates came out so I jumped and ordered one only to find out that nobody knew when the new updates were actually going into production. I got mine and then a week later I see others with pics of the upgrades so it looks like I just missed out.

Yeah, I know what you mean, we just didn't know. They switched over with the very last shipment they received. I was still expecting some of the ones I received a few weeks ago to be older style, but they were all the newer style. But I had gotten in a couple about two weeks before that that were the older style.

These are an underrated color IMO. In person, they look really good and one of my favorites. I have a couple of the trans white and trans black incoming (sold a few months ago) and I haven't seen them before, so I am looking forward to seeing these colors in person. But right now, your bass is my favorite Combustion color. I have a feeling I am really going to like the trans-black.

I really like the trans black. It is a superb finish probably my second fav on the bustins. If I recall picture a fender jazz elite for the trans white.

Yeah, and I also like the Combustion in Natural. I have a difficult time settling on a fav for NG2. ALMOST have settled on the RED and BLACK. I normally don't go for louder gloss colors, but these finishes are really nice. Maybe the RED/BLACK Swirl will end up being my favorite.

Lol. I hear ya.
If I was to get an NG my first choice would be black or white.
But most of the others I've seen have been stunning also. I like the new blue and orange. The last purple they did was awesome. The green is sweet. And on and on.

From what I understand Sheldon & Co are now putting in the new FDV pickups in most of Canadian basses instead of the FD3s.
This is my understanding as well. I received the very first production FDV equipped bass and knew I would only order the FDV from then on.

Heh, Rod does amazing work. So glad he's local. Very fun to hang out with as well.
Curious on the staggered poles. I know I talked to Rod a few times about pickups in Dingwalls, and he was/is collaborating with some folks on them. Are these ones you're test driving, or one of the production ones?

Not sure, it's the set I won at the Seattle Get-together! I did take angle measurements, string spacing info, etc so they may be testers! :)
