Yeah, pretty cool bass for sure! Probably my fave as well. I had to swing by the booth a couple of times just to look at it.

I heard at NAMM that DR may begin to make strings for Dingwall long-scale basses, possibly with Pure Blues. I didn't hear any absolutes, just rumor. I am happy with the Dingwall Strings, but do use the DR Pure Blues on my personal non fan fret basses, so I thought this interesting.

Hopefully that doesn't skyrocket the string price, but Pure Blues are pretty nice

Yeah, I don't know the intricacies of the switching well enough to know what's possible and how to make it happen. Might be a custom switching situation (not impossible but you just need to find someone who can do it.

I've been enjoying the Neck/Middle series setting option I now have. I was worried that it would be too 'dark' but the NG has plenty of mid and bright presence so it doesn't appear to be a problem, although I won't have a real firm grasp on it until I've played with my full rig on stage rather than with a single 112 in my music room. But imagine that punchy humbucker MM vibe applied in a thicker way without what I think of as 'gank' in the mids.

...The real hitch is that I'll be taking the NG out this weekend without a backup for Hartford and Port Chester NY shows. That's trust without a safety net. :P What's the worst that can happen in 2 hours per night?

Nice! New string options are always welcome. Especially from DR....they were always my go-to string company in my pre-Dingwall days.

Interesting! I might give them a try :D I remember liking the 40-100 set on my lakland P. Isn't the .95 E string a bit too flabby?
