Yes, in fact I run the bass pot at or close to zero most of the time, and all the way to zero when using any sort of distortion at all. Never any reason to get it up past 5, and this is on a scale of 0 to 10.
I also like the neck middle series position the best, and wish that there was a wee bit of attenuation in that switch setting to make its level match the level of the other three positions. That is one nice touch that PRS does on some of their guitars to compensate when switching between a humbucker and a single coil. Wondering if any electronics wiz has already solved that problem or would like to take a stab at it. It has to be a simple matter of adding a fixed amount of resistance in the line in that switch position, I would think.
