Dio

He was the greatest heavy metal singer of all time, bar none, and I respect and admire him deeply. .

I'm not Mr Metal but I agree with this %100.
He was one singer in the genre that I could listen to.

Man... so bummed.

Holy Diver has been a long Keraoke fave of mine. I was fortunate enough to see the amazing show that was Motorhead/Dio/Iron Maiden a few years back. He will be missed.

Played Last in Line, Holy Diver and Rainbow in the dark last night till my room mates complained.

\m/ R.I.P. Ronnie James Dio \m/

Ronnie James Dio (born Ronald James Padavona; July 10, 1942) has been a terrific singer and musician (bass guitar and trumpet early in his career) for over 50 years since the late 1950s with many successful bands. He will be sadly missed.

Black Sabbath

Heaven & Hell

Here are some songs over his wonderful career - what a voice!

Ronnie And The Red Caps

Man, what a voice.

Say what you want about the "classic" Sabbath lineup but Iommi and Geezer never rocked harder or tighter than during the Dio days.

He always made sure the bassist got plenty o' love in the mix, too. Kind of a rarity among metal singers in that regard.

I had the honor of meeting RJD backstage on the Holy Diver tour when I was 16 years old. Anyway...he was really the nicest guy you could meet. His road to the top was not always easy...especially after getting outsted from Rainbow but he went on to much greater things. It is indeed a very sad thing that he is no longer with us. Thanks for the music Ronnie......thanks alot.
