I'm going to play "Man On The Silver Mountain" for a day straight in tribute.
Yeah! Weird thing is that my band played that song yesterday for the 1st time in quite a while. Clueless as to the seriousness of his illness.

This is sad, but on the bright side the guy had a successful music career since the 50s, and lived to be a ripe old age. I only hope that the same thing happens for me.
67 is not young, but not that old either.
Meh. Old enough for me to call it quits if I have to. Its definitely on the older side in the rock and roll world.
Back in the 80s Dio organized heavy metal's answer to "We Are the World":

You can't spell "Studio" without "Dio".
Holy **** this is epic! I shouldn't say this on a bass player forum but they should have just traded solo licks on guitar for 10 minutes with that lineup. Awesome shredders.
Glad I saw him once opening for Maiden. One of the best rock vocalist ever.
By the way. can anyone ID the guy with the fro and mustache at about the 6 minute mark?
:'(
I have never felt so sad about a musician dieing before.
As well as all the other lovely comments about him, all of which i agree with, this is also how im feeling.
Ive never, ever felt tearful like this about a musician dying before.
It could well be that its caught me on a bad day (it is monday after all) but while i want to put on some Rainbow on i just cant as ill blubber all over my desk.
RIP Ronnie, hope you Catch your Rainbow.
Dude call me a pussy but this kills me...I've been tearing up all day. Its ok when its for an icon....and Dio was more than an icon.
