USA Peavey in general. More specifically (in order of preference); Millennium 5+, Grind 5, GV, & if I ever went back to passive fours the Foundation S. Best production passive PJ I ever laid hands on.

In 1997, I had the fortunate opportunity to catch a Peavey sponsored clinic, Rock Across America featuring Bobby Rock (Drums), Bill Dickens (Bass) and Neil Zaza (Guitar). All of the musicians blew us all away. Bill Dickens played a 6-string Peavey throughout the show. They hung around after the performance and were incredibly humble to speak with.

The Dolphin is drool worthy! It is still available, but only as a Custom Shop order. If I ever have the opportunity for a custom shop Warwick, it will be a Dolphin 6.

Recently discontinued - the MIC Squier Classic Vibe 60s Jazz/Precisions (including the Matt Freeman sig) and the 70s Precision. Most owners agree that they'd take them over their Mexican Fender equivalent, which is probably why they discontinued them.

Fender Roscoe Beck 4 & 5 string

My 96 RBV is getting all my love atm. I had the fingerboard planed, edges rolled and small L-series frets put in about 10 years back. It's perfect.

Fender american standard. Better price and better feel than the new stuff. I personally prefer the pre 2012 ones that don't ahve the custom shop pickups so... 2008-2011

I am not a huge Fender fan, but I loved this bass. I knew two guys who owned them. Both sold them due to unstable necks requiring constant adjustment. As a result, I never pursued buying one.

The truss rod in mine was unable to adjust enough bow out of the neck. After stripping one nut, I cut the nut in half and drilled out the thread to make a sleeve/washer/spacer and fitted another new adjuster nut. Perfect ever since.

How bizarre. I have two of them that I've had for years and they are rock solid stable.

Maybe teething issues with early models? Mine needed some modification.

I was just thinking about discontinued basses this morning.

What are some discontinued basses that you really like, might want to have, maybe wish they would start producing again?

Naturally there a lot of older ones... but a few newer ones that I either have or want to have, are also discontinued.

My little list:

Newer, but discontinued:
*Ibanez BTB33 (5 string 33" scale, tuned EADGC). Have, like. Discontinued a year ago, I think. Harder and harder to find.
* Music Man Big Al SSS 4 or 5 string (don't have, want, don't have enough cash for one at present, somewhat rare on used market).

Older, discontinued:
*Kubicki XFactor
*Steinberger L2

What are your discontinued favorites?

I have to agree with you about the Ibby Volo -- I own one and use it often. I'd add that the bass that I am constantly on the lookout for is a Yamaha BEX4. I miss my old one, but I haven't seen one for sale for a long while. And the one I did see was in terrible shape.
