Yes, I bought it used. Well, second hand... not used actually. I only noticed this issue when after couple days of playing a few notes started to chock. It was fine the first few days. Probably took some playing pressure for the frets to start sinking. So, I believe the seller wasn't aware as he didn't play it. It came as new condition.
The reply I got from Lakland is that the warranty applies only to the original owner.
I'm sure they didn't mean to but I do think they missed it on this one.


I'll stop here... hijacking this thread was not my intention.

A quick follow up. Got the DJ5 back from my luthier couple weeks ago. He did a beautiful job. Glued in the frets, leveled crowned and polished. The bass is a monster now. The total cost on this bass went way above market value ... At least I now have a beast.
