DLB (Dan Lakin Basses) Coming Soon!

Just spoke with Danny and couldn't be more excited and happy for him! One of the nicest people I know ... a class act through-and-through and a man that knows a thing or three about producing quality instruments.

His ideas have been quietly in the works for many months and he's got a great plan and some great support. Some very cool stuff ahead, to be sure. He's thrilled at the quality of workmanship he's gotten from his friends in Korea and that's all I needed to hear.

The initial models will be priced right around $1k ...

Looks like there will be at least a couple of gorgeous new basses in my not too distant future! Very exciting ...:hyper:

I just spoke with Dan and I was pretty excited that my "model" in my head was in good alignment with what he is trying to do. I asked about a couple of things that he will look into such as using an Ash body for weight.

I can add a couple of small details, apologies if these have already been mentioned:

The Jazz pickups are 60's spacing.

There is no case or gig bag included but Dan is looking into a gig bag he can add for a reasonable charge.

These boards are all rosewood, maple may be added later as well as maybe blocks and binding. The idea is to keep it simple now and those require more finishing.

The timeline, while as always is subject to change, is to order in July and get the basses back in Sept - Nov.

The price can be paid in full upfront for $100 less than paying in two installments.

Considering all the "USA" hardware features this is a really impressive offering so I am looking forward to it.
