do people really hate ebmm bongo bass?

Is quirky bass for quirky classic funk. It is not ugly, but design only fits the genre and looks weird elsewhere. For me it is in the same category as, say BC Rich Warlock. Warlock looks perfectly fine while playing Metal, Horrorpunk or Hardcore, but it would appear incredibly goofy if you played jazz or pop rock on it. It would be like wearing SWAT armor to a wedding.

Wouldn't own one because they aren't the type of instrument I'd use. The body shape looks like a toilet seat in a tornado and I don't like active electronics. If someone is able to make great music with one, then that's fine. I don't hate instruments that are capable of greatness in someone else's hands.

I'm up for any bass named after a drum, but with that neck a better name would be Slugger because it sure feels like a baseball bat.

i think these are the coolest looking bass, and they sound good in the demos online, i want one, people seem to hate them, is it because of looks or functionality and sound?

I don't care for the look of them myself to me they look like when the guy from Devo hacked his Gibson Ripper by removing the horns it looks like it had horns and they got cut off , I don't hate them, it is just my opinion. As for ones I have heard they all sounded great

I love them. My number 1 for many years.
Nothing but compliments on tone and looks.

It's one of a handful of basses on TB that people love to bash though. Don't let that stop you from trying one.
