Do Stickers Make a Bass Trashy?

The op has a wall hanger crap bass. He wants to plaster "good" stickers he found all over it. That's a waste of "good" stickers: to mix them up and camouflage them in a mess of other stickers. Stick them on your case in an orderly fashion to showcase them to your friends and countrymen. :p

I actually think there are pretty strict rules for stickers.
1) If you think there's any possibility that you may sell it, don't put stickers on it.
2) If it is vintage, no stickers.
3) If it is multi-colour finished or stained natural, no stickers. (stickers on a Warwick???)

Stickers only add flavour to solid coloured basses that have a generic shape. If you put stickers on an Iceman or a Rick, it would just look bizarre. Stickers are like a spice that's only necessary if your bass lacks flavour. Or they can be used to cover up blemishes.

I think genres come in to play as well. I guarantee you won't get any gigs at Jazz joints if your bass has stickers on it.

I think all of my basses have at least one sticker on them somewhere. Heck, I put one on my 57RI a week after I got it. Hater's gon' hate.

Hey ppl put bumper stickers on there cars , to get some kinda attention, or make a statement, if this is U , and now your bass is the victim, not the car, then I say go for it!!! It's your right u paid for it?

Personally I would never do that to my stuff, especially my basses, but that's me.

I've actually purchased a bass from an individual that used to have a sticker on it, while it was currently not on the bass anymore when sold, the sticker left a mismatch in the paint and discoloration that would not come off.

Yes, decals on your bass is trashy unless the player has matching tatoos in which case it is cool.
Basicily you get to pick whether you are trashy or cool.
Choose wisely.

The guitar I bought on CL looked like this before I put the dragon sticker on it.
The guitarist I bought it from had a brilliant idea of using his guitar as a place to put his presciption labels should he require medication while on a gig. The guitar sold for an incredibly cheap price on CL despite it's obvious strong artistic qualities.
Not putting stickers on my basses if I can help it.. just my cheapo guitars if they need it.

From Japan for next to nothing(except shipping). 3 T-Bird pickups in a maple LP...like the others here but this one got plastered with stickers.

They make it inexpensive and mod-able. This one gets a Ric pickup in the neck, a MM pickup in the rear, a Kahler trem, and a "K9's For Cops" sticker added to it.

The 2 T-Bird pickups taken out of it get used in other basses or sold on eBay.
