I think it depends on what scene your involved in. If your in a punk band and in the "punk scene" - its perfectly normal. On the flip side, I doubt you will see Jimmy Haslip putting stickers on his bass.

I wouldn't let him OR his bass date my sister - and I don't like my sister very much.

Nah - on second thought - I'll PM here phone number.
But beware - she's over 60 years old. Kinda set in her ways - if not in cement.
Show her a good time. She'll pay.

I vote every time.
Thats just a group of people who happen to not use stickers. I could do the same thing but with stickers.
Billy Joe-Green Day
Matt Freeman-Rancid
Flea-Red Hot Chili Peppers
The bassist from the clash (I'm having a brain fart)
John Entwistle- The Who (He did have spider stickers on at least one of his basses, not painted on graphics but stickers)
Hank WIlliams III
The list of famous people that use stickers goes on and on...
I've been called a tool for better reasons than that. That tears it...I'm going to buy some stickers for my bass later today!

Most of these people are just punks trying to appeal to kids.
I lost all interest in putting stickers on an instrument when I was 16. Anyone that stickers and instrument up to try and convey a message (whatever that may be) is a tool, IMO
