Would Duck Dunn?

Why, yes. Yes, he would ...

My girlfriend has a Jay Turser P-bass named Puster.

the strap buttons came out, there is skateboard grip tape on the back of the neck (she says he hates a neck that slides easy) and the body is absolutely covered in stickers. The Misfits, A Perfect Circle, Sex Pistols, Tool, a ton of local bands, My Little Pony, Hot Topic Stuff, Buddha, and a ton of stuff I'm missing.

I love that bass. it's 3 pounds, plays awesome (with new strings) and sound goods. She has an eye for cramped, frenetic artwork, so it looks good.

On the other hand, I played with a guy who had an LP copy guitar and he had 3 stickers (one of them a very large Against Me! sticker) and somehow managed to make it look bad.

All somewhat famous players and not ONE sticker.

So-o-o-o - the fame and sticker application theory is full of Bandini.

Thats just a group of people who happen to not use stickers. I could do the same thing but with stickers.

Billy Joe-Green Day
Matt Freeman-Rancid
Flea-Red Hot Chili Peppers
The bassist from the clash (I'm having a brain fart)
John Entwistle- The Who (He did have spider stickers on at least one of his basses, not painted on graphics but stickers)
Hank WIlliams III
The list of famous people that use stickers goes on and on...

i play in 4 ensembles, when I do a rock band gig, i bring the long strap and my 85 ibanez( with stickers). when I do my big band stuff, I play the LEJ or my VJ.

So trashy is a little off base in definition for me. it is more about appropriate appearance for the show.
