Do Stickers Make a Bass Trashy?

^ Who is this, and what's build into that bass - a synth?

Phil Lesh of the Grateful Dead / Further. He used that bass in the early '70s but had it in storage.

It started off as a Guild Starfire but was completely gutted. Inside it had a couple of Alembic filters with sweepable Q and other boosters and gadgets. In a sense they were more like the filters in an analogue synth. The pickups are also replacement Alembic models (very early) and there might have been a hum cancelling dummy coil in the middle position.

I remember it having the Dead's 'steal your face' and Apollo 11 stickers on it and the others are to indicate what the bass does! Total '70s overkill.

I have seen people with stickers on their upright basses. Do whatever you like and if you think that stickers make your bass look better then do it. I personally don't like to put anything on my instruments, the craftsmanship it takes to build a nice instrument is enough for me.

trashy? Mine adds class:

well I think stickers can make your bass look trashy... depends how you use the stickers and also whether you are aiming for a trashy-er look (some people want that).
Like cars, cars can look trashy if you mod it too much... and if you put stickers all over it starts to look like a nascar with bunch of sponsor logos on it... cept your stickers on your bass aren't paying you to put them there.
