Sure. I have 'the Jazz' and 'the upright'.

You shouldn't anthropomorphize machines. They don't like it.

Kate and blue I think anything can have a personality. Kate is what my uncle acre used to call the mules (obviously they were all girls so Kate was an easy generic name.) Mules are work horses so my foundation is my work horse and blue is blue because of color and the tone that i feel the mellow bluesy tone. So i I have no problem with names.

My old Alvarez 5 string that needs to be refretted is named Destiny and my new(ish) SR706 is named Faith...

I have names for most of my many guitars, but started running out of names by the time I started getting basses, so no, no names for mine. I just haven't been that imaginative; otherwise they would all have names. Now that a new Fodera is coming, maybe I ought to rethink it and start naming again
