Hey pointbass, . . . I was already outbid on that HXB with 5 days left to go. 
I wasn't going to spend a lot of money for a bass that has holes drilled into the body, but I did place a certain bid. I have it bookmarked to see just how much it ends up going for in 5 days from now. If it hasn't gone much above what it is now, I may up my bid, but it won't be that much more. I mean, a brand new one isn't a bunch of money anyway.

But then, if I really stop and consider, . . . . . . . . . I just priced the woods and all the parts for a Warmoth 6 string, and it came to just under 1K. . . . . . . . and that was with two Bartolini pickups and Bartolini Preamp. Better construction, Hipshot and Gotoh equipment, strap locks, . . .
My ZNT lefty just showed up today. It did need strings and setup and a little more tweaking on my part. The nut wasn't in the best shape either. Seems like they didn't carve out the slots for the G and C strings and when they put the crappy strings on, they took something to it to match the form of the fretboard. That will require some minor attention as not all the slots are the same depth.
Other than that, it feels great and is very bright. I put some DRstrings hi-beams on it, but they're too bright. I may have to get the LaBella flats from Rondo.
The electronics sound good in either passive or active.
All in all, I'd have to say I'm quite pleased with it.

Does brice make six string fretless for right hand players? i only see lefties on EBAY. (i live in europe).
Sorry to dredge up an aging thread, but thought I'd put my 2 cents in since I got my own Brice ZBass Neckthru this weekend.
As Pointbass said, it did need setup. Mine had some pretty loathesome fret buzz from the 1st through 5th frets, but 2 quarter turns on both truss rods and some string height adjustments took care of the majority of that. I think new strings might also help in this department. Intonation was actually pretty close, only had to adjust 4 of the 6 strings, and the bridge is extremely easy to adjust, I liked it. After that, everything sounded great.
The active electronics are neato (never had an active bass before) and I was able to dial in a lot of tones, especially compared to my passive Fender Jazz. It got a great slappy tone when I pushed up the treble, which makes me quite happy. I was having trouble getting that out of my Jazz. I kinda wish there were a diagram of which knob was what though. I've just been playing with them with no real knowledge of what they're supposed to do
The bass is pretty large, not dainty by any means. The neck is wide to cope with the very nice 19mm string spacing. I have small hands, but it's not much of a poblem. I just can't use my pinky in the higher registers on the bottom strings. It's heavier than my Fender Jazz, but that's to be expected being a 6 string.
Overall I'm very happy with it. Since I don't have much of a frame of reference, having never played many high end 6ers, I can't compare and contrast much. I can say, however, that for a first 6 string for someone with a limited budget that this bass is quite solid and versatile.

They do a lousy job explaining the controls, that's for sure. But they're pretty straight forward, just volume (with the active/passive push/pull), balance, treble and bass. Yeah, and it will go higher yet .... wouldn't be surprised if it ends up ~ $200-$225, the Brice stuff has some decent resale valueDaveCustomMade said:pointbass, that ebay HXB is now up to $150!!!
Heh, I ended up yanking one of the knob covers off because I thought it was the push/pull knob. My wife got a good chuckle out of that.
I must 2nd that experience. On the lefty ZNT, it was a lil more than quarter turn for me, but that was almost it. I opened the control compartment and everything is now shielded.

For the price is a good bass , and it is a well done with paint and setup.

I have had an HXB-406 fretless for several years now and am quite happy with it, considering the price.
I have a Brice V2 six string bass and I absolutely love it. It's playability and tone are everything I could ask for plus it's absolutely beautiful. Wonderful instrument!
