Do you switch basses mid-set?

I switched only one time, when the jack failed on my main bass and I had to pull out my backup (both were 1970s Precision Basses). That was about seven years ago.

I forgot that I used to play a song in a different tuning in a band a few years ago. We would start a set with that song, then I'd quickly switch to another bass in standard tuning for the rest of the set to minimize down time
For my soul band, I never switch basses, partly because I don't want to create dead air. We already have two players who do some switching. That's enough.
