I’ve been using one for years now , to be honest I still haven’t decided if they’re cool as hell , or butt ugly. But it sounds great , is light as a feather , and is really fun to play.

I like them with F holes too, is that a Danelectro? I have seen those before though but forgot who made them. Oh Coral, I just looked it up, I vaguely remember Coral guitars and never knew they were made by Danelectro.

Yes. very much so.
I fought the urge to get one for years. This year I finally pulled the trigger. I had been afraid that bandmates would try to have me not show up with it. WRONG! They like it, some say it's cool and they all love its tone. I don't even think about anyone liking the looks of it or not - I don't think about that either 'cos I love it. The tone is so good, I prefer it over my Gibsons. That surprised the hell out of me, in a good way.
Well, there's the Ampeg ASB-1 Devil Basses from 1967. It was the project of Mike Roman at Ampeg, and reports are that Mike was inspired by the DanElectro Longhorn. A different take on the longhorn idea.

Arguably the best bass for uppermost fret access, but it's an ugly path to them.
They look too country for me. Like I should have cowboy boots and hat on or something. I want to like them, I want to really badly, heck I almost bought one but I can’t get over the look.
No. One of the ugliest instruments ever made.
I like it because it reminds me of The Devil Bass. Bruce Johnson creates art and I'd love to check out anything he does, but in the meantime, truth be told, I've been thinking about a Danelectro. The Longhorn is a favorite shape for that bass and my eyes are open. Thanks for the reminder!
i voted "yes" --- it's a cool design (including bruce's ampeg example).
