Do you use fEARful?

Jimmy happens to be a friend of mine too. :D

And lets see. George, who usually fits in the Mesa 'fanboy' category, as well. ;)

I know a bunch of people who are Jule Amps fanboys, more than a handful of Fender fanboys...because no one would ever stump for them, right? How about guys who say good things about DR strings...they're fanboys too.

What a surprise that if you put the word fEARful in a thread title, those who like or use them would show up to discuss.

I'm a GK fan boy :D

Exactly. People like to use 'fanboy' derogatorily around here, although it certainly also applies to probably 95% of the people who post on TB.

Its usually a rhetorical term or tactic used when someone doesn't like the piece of gear or company in question.

:rollno: No it’s not. For example, I’m a fanboy and proud of it - see my signature.

EDIT: OP FWIW, what I’ve seen over the few years that I’ve been a Tbers. Out of all the products discussed on TB, I’ve never seen a more aggressive group of fans than the handful of Fearful users and builders on this forum. One reason why Tbers don’t post anything even remotely negative about FF is because a handful of FF users and builders dog pile on top them while trying to get them ban from TB and burying their post with multi-posting, jokes, pics etc so their post is lost in the thread (look in the archives).

For example - I’m being zeroed in on right now just for using the term fanboy as if it’s a bad term or something when referring to fans in an effort to get me ban from TB just because they think I might say something about FF that they don’t agree with.

For the record, I like Greenboy and I don't have anything negative to say about FF.

Anyway, good luck and have fun with your FF.

I would certainly hope someone wouldn't be harassed for saying something negative about a product. It is just opinion and input that can only help others. The main reason I was drawn to fEARful was because I just wanted to build a cab myself. Otherwise I would be getting a GK cab. So if the fEARful isn't as great as everyone claims then my only loss is money. And i would share what i think about it.

I would hope that no one would be harassed for saying positive things about a product either, but being a fEARful user on TB is like having a target painted on your back and has been for a long time now.

YOU may not have been using it that way, but there is no question that is how it is usually used.

Please cite an example of any of the builders doing what you claim.
I see very few posts on TB of any kind by the fEARful builders. And some of them never post here.

Yes, that as well. And I assume that is because of a select few who obsessively push a/the product to an unnecessary or ridiculous point; so whenever someone makes the suggestion for it or does say something nice about it, they are lumped in with those few.

Those exist within nearly every brand's loyalty base.

I took some time away from TB for just such a reason, because even though I never suggested a fEARful as a solution for anyone who wasn't looking for a 2 or 3 way cab, if anyone asked a serious question about the fEARfuls, in answering you'd be met with attacks and snide comments. If you commented on the capabilities (how much wattage I use, the volume, etc.) people would act like you're lying or falsely over stating. All from people who have never heard or seen the cabinet.

Yeah it happens and they talk among themselves on the thread as if that TBer wasn't even there too. Anyway, way cool. Yeah, then you defiantly should build one. BTW, sometimes you can fudge the demission's a little more than some the FF fanboys want you to believe. For example, some cab designs have room to add a mid driver or not - which means the demission's can obviously be fudged a little. Just start with a good driver and build the cab around it. Oh have you seen/played with any cab designing software yet?

There are a few people here that are quick recommend fEARful cabs, even if the thread was asking for something completely unrelated to them, and they love to post pics with their recommendations. However, I have never known these people to flame anyone because of a differing opinion, most have been very helpful. As long as you spend your time promoting what you love, instead of bashing what you hate, you are living right

Dimensions, just sayin'.
