Do you wear a watch when you play?

I got rid of my smart watch (which I now only use for tracking sports) and wear a Sinn automatic on a daily basis.


On stage, it's a question of what I do up there. If it is for some reason important to track the time, I will wear it.
If it's a gig where I'm simply wearing the casual clothing I put on in the morning, the watch is part of the outfit.
If I'm wearing a stage outfit, the watch comes off.

A more important question... Do you wear a ring on your fretting hand? I have to take off my wedding ring when I play. It drags on the edge of the neck and feels odd. Maybe I should start a new poll?

I was always employed in industrial areas with lots of equipment and snags... everybody took off their rings and their watches. After a while I just quit wearing or buying appendage ornaments altogether.

If you've ever seen a de-gloved finger from a ring caught up in a chainfall you would quit jewelry too.

Most Omega watches are entirely anti magnetic. I would give them a look.

I wear a watch when I play. I'm right handed and used to wear it on my right wrist. Then I started slapping and I moved it to my left wrist. It's been there ever since.

Always have worn a Seiko loose banded watch when playing. I hated tight watch bands. Also an onyx dress ring on right hand and a wedding ring left hand. This pic doesnt show a wedding ring as I was between wives at the time loll

Is that a Sunset Orange Transparent Jazz??!! Beautiful! I used to have one as well, and regret selling it. They look so cool under the lights!

As for the original question... Yes, I wore a watch every day of my life from high school until about a year ago. (I'll be 74 in September.)

I felt naked without a watch on. But last August I had another rotator cuff surgery on my left shoulder. Took the watch off and haven't worn it since. I guess I've been liberated!

Don't wear a watch when I play, or a long-sleeved shirt with buttons. I've got a pull over hoodie and a zip front with piping beside the zipper to keep it off my bass. If it's not too cold but enough to need sleeves, I'll put on a long sleeved T under my regular T. If it's too cold for that, I'll throw on a sweatshirt instead of a long sleeved T.
