There was a Doctor?

Shame you non-UK residents won't get to see this on the iPlayer:

It was an absolute masterclass in orchestration and performance, coupled with some great archive VT and guest appearances.

Oh, and I want to marry Jenna-Louise Coleman.

Just finished watching it... spectacular. Always good to see Matt, Jenna, Neve (Vastra) and Dan (Strax) doing their thing live on stage.

It was also lovely to see Carole Ann Ford there - some proper recognition of the classic era, and who can be more classic than Susan, The Doctor's granddaughter and first ever companion? It was brilliant that they brought back a couple of the original series composers to perform too.

I'm sure BBCA will show it at some point, but track it down if you can via whatever means necessary. :)

Off season moment - had a look back and didnt see this mentioned so apologies if its been done or if everyone already knows it but I just discovered it - if you go to Google Maps and type in Earls Court Tube Station and go street view, you will see a familiar object - there are a couple of extra arrows on the street map thing, give them a click til you get the right one......

I watched it tonight with the missus. She and crow junior are going to see the 50th episode in 3D at the local cinema next Saturday for the simultaneous premiere.

As fate has it, I'm in Cardiff that weekend on a stag do so I'll have to watch it on sky plus when I stagger through the door on Sunday night.

There was a great programme on bbc2 tonight - 'the science of dr who' with Brian Cox. Excellent.

Plenty of other programs kicking around too - a special on 'the companions' and a 'greatest ever villains and monsters' this week.

Can't wait for this one-off special.

Yeah I had a rehearsal tonight - first night back after 'the back' —so I have it taped - well stored digitally on a hard disk to watch later... Dr and The Prof - excellent.
Loved that last shot in the special...
Big son and I thought about the big screen 3d but seats on offer were crap so big screen at home then ahem.. d/load the 3d version later.....

Wife picked up tickets today for the cinema show. She was offered a discount if her and little miss Crow turn up fancy dress.
I've told her to expect Rocky Horror style fanaticism.

I'll probably be hugging a loo spewing my guts up in some Cardiff boozer by then.

"I'm a Doctor but not perhaps the one you were expecting"
Class!
Fair play to them for keeping it quiet and McGann played a blinder in denying that he would have any involvement - so far so good :)

If you trawl back through this thread, I think I said after the John Hurt 'reveal' that he was going to turn out to be the Doctor between McGann and Eccleston, as that was the only regeneration we never saw.

I wonder if Eccleston is going to show his face? I doubt it, but that would be an awesome little bonus.

Paul McGann is getting a lot of love in the fandom...there is apparently serious talk going on about perhaps giving him a mini-series as a flashback to his period before he regenerates into The Hurt Doctor (yeah I know they are now officially calling him the War Doctor, but I like Hurt, Hurt is cool :) )

Saw interview with him at a convention this week, he was very charming and into the idea himself and I would say is a bit like Capaldi in that he is a fan...

Go on Steven, you know you want to....
