Does color matter to you??

To be completely honest my favorite bass, the one you couldn't pay me enough to sell, would run back into a burning building to save......is in fact sunburst.i bought it in 04 when I was 18 and have replaced damn near everything on it. Except the finish

I didn't even like the sound of a Jack Casady, (anti P bass sound prejudice) until I found a black one and for some reason it's the best sounding bass I've ever had now. Getting it home helped, once I owned it and experienced that p.u. which has a lower impedance but louder, richer sound (another weird aspect) I'm converted.

When you're hopelessly left-handed (and, after trying to play righty for 50+ years now - and failing - I'm hopelessly left handed), and your taste runs to "Vintage" stuff, you learn to just be happy with what you can get.. Orange is not exactly my favorite color, but on a Gretsch? It's pretty much de rigueur; and color choices were limited back in 1994, anyway. And, since it's the only lefty Gretsch bass I've ever seen - that wasn't a conversion or a high $$$ '50s custom - I wasn't about to pass on it just because of the color. As for the guitar? The only color I really dislike is red, but.. if you want early '70s MIJ Epiphone hollow body guitars or basses, it's red... or nothing. And this EA-250 is one helluva little guitar; and the companion EA-260 bass is no slouch either.. The pickin's, color-wise, can be pretty slim if you're a lefty who's stuck in the past...:whistle:

Generally no.

My clone 70's Fender P-bass was spec'd Olympic White (with black three ply pick guard), which I love!

My Yamaha BBN4 has a reddish/brown stain over alder (no pick guard). Not my first choice in color, but then again, I didn't have a choice when it was as cheap as it was!

I may refinish it some day; but again, SOMEDAY.

Some basses just look good in certain colors.

Yes, I did swap out the pickup to an SD vintage rail (?). I seem to recall it didn't make much of a difference. The stock PU was just fine.

I guess the blue is all gone, but you can probably track down a gently used one if you're patient.

Yes and no. There probably isnt a color I wouldnt consider if it looks good. All colors have their canvas. I'm not really into Red but I have a red bass. I also have a bass boat green bass and a fiesta red bass. All are colors that get hate from others but on the bases they are on it looks good to my eye.

Yes I've passed on good grabs cuz ultimately that color is not what I wanted.

No burst and no tort. Other than that, I'd have to see the specific color on the bass.

For those of you who have said 'no pink', I played a Mike Lull bass in transparent pink when I was looking for a 5-string a couple of years ago. It was a nice pink. It was a nice bass. It was out of my price range.

My two basses are black and blue.

I am aware of an nice G&L bass, but it is orange.......can't do that either and I wouldn't have it refinished.......

The Squier used to come in a nice Lake Placid Blue. Is that color discontinued?
