Does color matter to you??

It's definitely a factor for me, but I will say as much as I dislike sunburst and the like, it didn't stop me from getting a sunburst T-Bird. Although after a year of having it, I'm looking to refinish it... I almost wish I'd gone for the white one, it was an extra $20.

I was never a fan of black basses, but recently got a G&L Kiloton 5 in black burst and I like it a lot. My preference is always some sort of transparent color or burst – but not standard sunburst – some favorites are honey burst and tobacco burst + always liked Sienna Sunburst.

I don't care if it's spray painted with Rustoleum lime green and fuchsia deck paint and has My Little Pony inlays in it. It will be mine. Oh yes! It will be mine...

Depends on the bass, production instruments I might give a thought to the color, but there are certain high end instruments that if had for the right price, I probably wouldn't care too much.

I have a fair amount of GAS for the Squier Classic '50s Pbass, but I just can't buy that colour, but that is me.....1/2 thinking of getting it and get a body shop to repaint

I am aware of an nice G&L bass, but it is orange.......can't do that either and I wouldn't have it refinished.......

I traded a Lakland Joe Osborn Jazz Bass for a MusicMan Bongo 4H. The Bongo was Stealth Black. I never dug the color. I flipped it then I regretted hard after that. That Bongo was a sweet bass.

Due to the prevalence of four finishes, I tend to avoid black, red, white, and natural. A special thank you to Fender and Gibson for the saturation.

That said, because aesthetics are important in the bands I play in, I will go with white. It is great under stage lighting.

Beyond that, I am much more attracted to rare and colorful finishes, and sparkle finishes (I have around five sparkles, three finished by the one and only Marty Bell). My basses and guitars are there for both function and fashion. If I can't find a great bass in a color that intrigues me and helps entertain my audiences, I'll have it refinished.

They also made this in a sort of metallic Pelham blue, very pretty. I have one. Great bass. It's worth the price of a re-fin.

Have you ever passed on a bass solely bassed on color?? Obviously if it's a screaming deal I won't. But I find myself seriously despising the idea of every buying a sunburst or especially a black bass ever again. So, I'm sure this will get interesting....how important is the visual aspect of a bass a part of your decisions

Sure, color is what first catches my eye. Once something catches my eye, I can take the next step...grabbing it and plugging it in for a test drive.
One the other hand, no sense even giving a Vintage Burst with a tort pickguard, for example, more than a passing glance.
