Actually, in my 13 yr old brain this seemed like a logical step.
Yeah, the guitar slots were already taken, so I was left with bass.
Drums were too expensive and hard to lug around.
Girls always seemed to go for the singers.

I solved that problem by marrying the drummer's sister!

We're all married, but when I walk in with my wife and my girlfriends, all the other chicks in the place get hot and jealous, and line up to see who can outdo each other for my attention. Any show or club i go to to see a band play I'm parked in front of the bass player. I may not be screaming at the singer, but I get my fair share of picks tossed down my cleavage too

That is the worst synopsis about bass players EVER. I might even go as far as to say the most stupid as well. I'm guessing this is another topic to get bass players riled up...lame. If you're really in it for the "chicks" only, don't ever bother becoming a musician.

A long time ago I gave up picks and seriously learned plucking with my fingers. After getting good and comfortable using my fingers I began to pluck with intensity and found the above post to be 100% true. I get lots of attention using my hands.....
