Doomy/wall of fuzz - fuzz

A lot of fuzz demos will sound fizzy if they are recorded direct or with a cab with a tweeter. You can bet that all of these crazier fuzzes will sound pretty fizzy, but that's something you fix by using a tweeterless cab or cab sim!

I didn't rate the Megalith when I tried it, it sounded too spluttery with no body to it unless you scooped all the mids out. I've tried a lot of fuzzes and often struggled to match the tones I've heard in demos though, which I think is due to using a high output passive bass (Yamaha BB1025X). Since getting a passive Jazz with a brighter quieter sound, I've noticed how different some pedals can react, so my opinion of some might change if I had the chance to revisit them.

That Pale Mare clip sounded great, although I'm not sure they're currently available?

Yeah true, I'm gonna keep looking into fuzzes, possibly a pale mare or silver rose at the minute but still waiting to find the perfect fuzz

May have been covered before but looking for a doomy/wall of fuzz sound that sounds like my amp is being pushed to its limits, take pissed jeans as inspiration-
Cheers
EDIT: Maybe a DBA fuzz war? Something thick and heavy essentially!

Loud cheap solid state heads. This was a new acoustic 600b, running two 2x15 cabs, cranked. I eventually blew the transformer in the thing, it was supposed to handle a 2 ohm load...but, turns out it couldn’t, and they stopped making them. I now use a Peavey Mark 4 musician, and a new Acoustic 800b. I used one of Brad (the guitarists) clone fuzz pedals...not sure what it was. I cranked the poopie out of the head, and leaned into the speakers. Look into Damnation Audio, I use the pedal I got from Jeff always...it’s brutal, but also versatile.
