Double discount at Guitar Center

I have tracking numbers for both of my items, a Hofner Icon and a Kustom bass amp. The Hofner is now in my town and scheduled for delivery on Monday, but the amp just says that billing info has been received and it has been shipped but nothing about where it is.

If anyone has received their order today could you let us know or PM me if you're paranoid. You have my word as a bass player and a gentleman that I will never reveal your identity if you so wish.

Guys and gals, it's all over. GC/MF has combed through their database of recent orders to isolate anything that has more than one coupon/discount applied. They've leveraged the integration of their ordering system with UPS and/or FedEx systems to put a recall on any shipments that actually got on a truck... they will be pulled when they reach the first transit point and sent back to the warehouse (NOTHING goes directly from their loading dock to your front porch).

Most of the stuff that has a tracking number attached to it has not even left their warehouse. They have the shipping software installed on their in-house ordering system, and it attaches a tracking number and marks the thing as "shipped" as soon as it's pulled from stock and boxed. I know this because I have had a hand in designing this kind of software in the past. If you look at past orders from them, you'll probably remember that you had a tracking number from GC/MF 24 hours before the actual shipping company had info on their web site. This is because the shipping company did not yet actually have the package in their possession. They don't need to have it in order to issue a tracking number and estimated delivery date. All of that info is generated by the software based on historical models.

I'm sure GC/MF will try to cut you the best deal possible. But think this through. If you got free shipping, and the shipping cost they'll have to eat on your order is $35 or so as a result of calling the package back, this is a MUCH more manageable financial hit than allowing a bass that they paid EBMM $1200 for to get to you for $400. If you live VERY close to the origin warehouse there is a teensy-weensy chance your order might slip through. Everyone else needs to just give a big sigh and let it go. You're not going to be receiving new gear for 25% of their wholesale cost. It's simply not going to happen.

When did they tell you this?

Well, I just looked and my lovely (?) Longhorn shipped out of KS late this afternoon. It's on the road. They had plenty of time to pull the order, but they didn't. No calls from GC, nothing.

I have no idea why, other than maybe they're not sweating the small stuff and only hitting the really egregious examples. I just got a longer deal on an originally overpriced and under-discounted item, no deal I haven't bettered previously.

[shrug] We'll see.:hmm:

Departure Scan
The shipment has departed a UPS facility and is on its way to the next UPS facility. The shipment is moving, however, there may be several days between scans if the shipment is going cross-country or moving between countries.

I'm being teased before cancellation... :eyebrow:

=wr=

Don't give up yet, one of my guitarded friends got some $400 delay pedal for $38 and had it shipped to his folks' place, apparenty by their DC, and the thing got there today. Box is opened, its not a rock and a "Nice try" note or anything. His went UPS, and his tracking number they sent never did show active on the website.

I can only hope my 70lb $16 Acoustic B200 slipped through as well.

OK guys need your help.
I ordered wasn't able to put all the 7 coupons.
(Actually I did the system accepted them also but by the time my order got processed GC yanked the coupons from under my feet.
Ok anyways I still got a cool 20% off on my merchandise.

Now the problem is i'm sitting in India and its getting delivered to PA to my friends house.
My credit card's details have been given. (Indian Visa Card) First it said order number ***** approved now I get a mail from GC saying I need to confirm my order no XXXXXX (its some other number) My card hasn't been charged as yet but everytime I've paid for somthing in the states it shows a couple of days later after the FX rates apply...

What do I do now? Somebody told me that they verify your card and its not possible to order using an Indian Card or some ****. Do you know what their policy is? There's nothing mentioned in their FAQ section.
I can't call them till 8.30 A.M. tomorrow..
What kind of verification will they ask for? Will they ask for some taxes or additional charges cause the money's coming from a different country??

Why was my order number different in two different mails???

That last part is probably because they're shipping it in two different shipments, so you would need two different numbers? Did you order more than one thing? Just a thought. I can't answer the part about what they'll ask for because I've never tried to order something using an out of country credit card. Maybe extra time to process it or possibly shipping charges?
