Dr. Scientist Reverbrator or IE Nimbus?

I have never tried Nimbus, but I love my RRR. It's extremely versatile. I've never had problems playing through it live. Probably because I usually turn it on during solos (usually in high register) or occasional chordal intros on my Yamaha 6-string. I compared it to EBS and Srymon and prefered it to both of them. It just sounds so natural to me.

I've had both and decided to keep the nimbus. In my opinion it is just as versatile as the RRR. I really liked both and if I still had the RRR I wouldn't be sad. I really liked the amount of "gain" (for lack of a better term) that the RRR had. It was really easy to bring the signal up and keep it from getting lost.

FWIW, I use the Nimbus mainly for huge room volume swells and the like not as much for a quick reverb.

I'm pretty much decided it will be one of these two.

How "subtle" is the Nimbus capable of being would you Nimbus owners say? I will probably mostly use it in this particular manner... meaning very subtle just for some vibe / character. Obviously would be great to make it totally nuts as well should the occasion arise but mostly it will just be some vibe.

The nimbus can be quite subtle if your bass signal is relatively dark. If you're using very bright strings, playing with a pick, using a treble boost etc. it will be less so (more hiss from the attacks).

EDIT: Though this is generally true for all reverbs without a high dampening filter...

Subbed ... any updates ? IE Nimbus and Dr Scientist both look like excellent options to me.
