I like that. Care to share the specs?
My fave bass is my BTB846v. also 33".

I had a Bought a BTB845V for a back up to have on stage, had it strung B to G but it had issues so I sent it back and after a month of waiting on parts I got my money back. My Muck is 33” scale strung B to G maple neck thru with walnut wings, Nordstrand Big Rig pickups, not sure about the spacing but it’s wider then the Ibanez SR models, I don’t like the SR spacing. Basically you call and talk Brady about what you like, music you play and he will build you your dream bass. Go to his website for details on hardware and all that. I love my bass, he keeps you updated on your build

^^ Thanks BFB, I'm not interesting in commissioning a build, I just like to know the details and yours looked like a simple, meaning elegant, build. Next year I'm going to build some of my own instruments, as my business partner is a (former) luthier and will help.

Winner! :)
I bet that would work great... I used to have a 28.6 scale "stingray" that I ended up tuning 3 semitones up, that was its own native perfect tuning for feel and sound, and I called it the G-bass

Cool.

You still own that bass?

Would like to see some pictures of it, if you got any.

Currently I use my Ibanez Mikro Bass, which is also 28,6" which I have tuned up to F# standard tuning, that I use for the musical project that currently have my main attention, a bass/vocals and drums/vocals duo, where the riffs that makes up the songs are mostly played in a sort of crossover of how you would usually play a bass, baritone guitar and a guitar, rather then traditional bass lines (I also utilize and always on 1 octave up effects, to fill some more sonic space, giving an effect somewhat similar to that of playing an 8 string bass (though the octave up being mixed in a bit lower than it typically would be with a real 8 string bass), with pairs of respectively bass and octave strings, and I actually managed to dial in a custom tone print loaded in my TC Electronic Sub'N'Up Mini that sounds remarkably natural, at least close enough that it doesn't sound the least artificial in the mix).

I find the F# tuning works better for more melodic parts than regular E standard tuning (while still having enough bottom end to fill out the role of the bass), and traditionally F# standard has actually been used in classical music for upright bass solo pieces, further more I found that, while my Mikro actually does sound great and I don't find the strings too floppy with higher gauge strings for E standard tuning (that is as long as I don't play the low E string above 12th fret or so at least), the gauge .090 string that I use for the low F# string is about as heavy gauge as you can go if you want it still to sound decent when fretted above about the 12th fret or so, since the short scale when the strings reach a certain gauge simply makes the string too inflexible, due to the shorter vibrating length at the upper part of the fretboard, resulting in serious loss of sustain and a dead really pronounced thuddy tone.

I have several dream basses already, but while I'd never spend the money it would take to get one, my dream bass is a 6 lb. PJ loaded with Geezers. I don't necessarily care about looking similar to a Fender, but I want the overall Fender vibe like the bolt-on neck, pickup locations, etc.

I just remembered as I was putting this $11 purple pickguard on my Adam Clayton special...

I want the purple/pink sparkle edition of this or the P bass so dang bad and I've been obsessed with sparkle finishes ever since I saw it. Ain't nobody paying ebay prices for it, though, so I settled for Sherwood Green.

/sigh

That looks really cool. Not a combination I'd have even thought of, but I like it.

twice i bought my dream bass, both basses i had yearned after for years, and both times my shoulder issues forced me to return them. first was the rickenbacker, a gorgeous dark blue burst from the early '80s. and second was a fender aerodyne with its slim body and sleek looks earlier this year.

I have two dream basses, both Dingwalls.

The first is my Dingwall Z1 (Voodoo Shape) custom aka the Rastaburst. It was the product of a three year journey and is I think the quintessential meaning of what you're asking.

It's got high grade wood (highly flamed & spalted maple) with the block inlays, headstock veneer and even pickup shells from the same piece (and finish). The pickup shells are actually cut from the wood so the grain and spalting is continuous across the body and shells. The body is dual density swamp ash, and the electronics had a custom hybrid treble control built for it, etc. Compound radius, compound headstock angle as well.

Then there's the other kind of 'dream bass'. For a handful of months back in late 2019 and early 2020 I had a bunch of dreams that featured a bass...It was a dark green metallic P-bass. It showed up in gig dreams, gig anxiety dreams it showed up in dreams where it was in the back of my car, etc. etc. etc.

After one particularly vivid dream I woke up in the morning got out of bed and sat down and emailed Dingwall and ordered the bass that had been in my dreams. I figured either it was a specific message (God? My subconscious? I dunno!) and after having this one bass show up in my sleeping hours so frequently I would be foolish to ignore it. At the very least I thought maybe it would stop showing up if I actually got the bass. Since then I literally have not dreamed about it since. But then, it's hanging on the wall across the room now. ;)

The bass as ordered/made was a Super P, the Dingwall evolution of the Precision. I literally dictated the specs for it in all of about 5 minutes. Alder body, maple neck, 'dark wood' fingerboard with dots (that ended up being slab macassar ebony, though my dreams didn't specify beyond it being a dark brown fretboard with dots), black pickguard, chrome hardware and dark candy green finish. The only embellishments I made on the dream was the bridge pickup, Luminlay for the dots & a hidden series/parallel switch for the bridge.
